Long story but, Already have maxtracs (I'm 2wd), 5100's with eibach 620's, LR UCA's, etc... Haven't installed anything, I want to do it all at once. Front will be around 5.6 in, try to settle to 5.4~ over time may swap coils in the future but that's small talk. I want the rear close or as close as I can get to leveled with front. Don't ask about leafs because its too hard to explain at the moment, I will try my theory and report back lol, trying to stay as far away from blocks as possible but I may end up running a 1in'er. With that said, you're limited to few shock options for the rear in a modest price range. I say modest because I know for sure I can custom order kings, fox, etc. B110's are the standard, I was looking into extended length 2.0 icons, for the option to rebuild. Being there collapsed and extended lengths are similar to b110's, I thought they could work, but everything I've come across says 3in tops... So, after searching, BDS partnered with fox for their kits, places sell the BDS/Fox variants for a good price. They're aluminum, another plus in my book. I can deal with figuring out not to over extend or bottom them out, only issue I'm running into with the 4in BDS/Fox shocks, they are rebuild able, BUT, Fox nor BDS sells rebuild kits, it has to be done in house at Fox, and that could be pricey if something does happen. Just trying to get an honest answer from someone who does run them, either on a custom build like I'm trying to do, or a BDS DB kit. There's a reason I don't have a build page yet, I want something viable and worthy of a build first, that's just me.

2.5 Fox's are awesome, but not in my budget for this phase, I would gladly dish out for 2.5's if I was still going LT like my original plan, but would 100% stick with Kings for LT, not a Fox fan, but these BDS/Fox caught my eye and fit my budget and look like they will work well. My money is now being thrown at the engine, trans, and brakes, and some to suspension and I have a long road ahead.

 

Seeing those street tires on a 3rd gen makes me want to get an Xrunner if they ever come out... looks niceeee

 

Great looking truck OP. I like the stance & wheel choice. Time to kill the chrome on the grill and make it match all around. Dont mind the hate. You paid for it and you built it to fit your liking.

 

Brings tears to my eyes. 2GR and 6mt would make an awesome 2nd gen X runner, S Runner was cool but X Runner name fits the mold better.

 

Pretty interesting thread that has went everywhere and no where. Coming from a previous jeep owner (2004, then 1994) I think I will add my two cents. 20" wheels - totally worthless except for looks. Cannot air down, turn your ride into a 3500 series and jar the crap out of you. You also cannot air them down as posted earlier. 6" lift, hmmm looks awesome, allows bigger tires, gives more clearance for flexing and with the addition of 35" tires, two inches taller than 33" and 1" more ground clearance below the axles when done right awesome.
If you have to do a t-case drop it defeats the whole purpose, In a jeep a tummy tuck slip yoke eliminator and new rear drive shaft cures all that. I guess I have more to learn about these Tacoma's. Killing me that 33"s may be out of the question with the Toytec Ultimate lift I have.
Gas mileage, wear and tear, loss of acceleration, yup. As for braking, I recommend buying pro stop front pads and slotted rotors and you will be back to normal. I have them on my 06 Dodge Diesel 4x4 and it stops amazingly. Also had them on both jeeps.
