I just saw a sticker at a booth this weekend that said "My truck was built with wrenches, not chopsticks"
I'd hate to see the day the guy who slapped that on his Ford finds out his truck was built in mexico.

You should have bought one to put it on yours. Since our truck are infact as American as any Domestic.

I thought about it, but nobody would've been as clever or knowledgeable as any of us and therefore wouldn't have gotten the joke. I must say coming out of the show when I got back to my truck there was this old beat up POS F 150 that was partly in his spot, mostly in mine. The narrow, nimble taco comes in handy in more places than tight trails.

I do love how people say I should "buy American" and I respond with "Your Ford/Dodge/Chevy was built in Mexico or Canada." Toyota IS a Japanese brand, but they are built in America giving AMERICANS jobs. Then I usually pull them out of the ditch they're stuck in and go on about my day!
My best account of one of "these" people so far is my friend Jarod who gave me shit for driving a Toyota for a long time. He lost his job at a Jeep dealership and got a job with a Toyota dealership. He soon became an owner of a Tacoma and thanks me all the time for "changing his ways". lol

I don't think toyota is any better thatn any other truck, it's the just the truck I have right now. I think it's more of the owners care for the vehicle that outweighs perceptions about it's engineering or mechanics. I do enjoy my tacoma though, mainly because of the power boosting mods that have been done to it. The only problem I have with the truck is obviously it's size, but that's a "pick your poison " type thing. I chose it because it was small but i could go for a;itt;e xtra cabin room and some bed space now and then.
ON a side note. I had to drive a fellowbrother in the trades back and forth toa job for a month back in the fall. He would give me shit about the truck. WTF! you're riding in my truck, that's getting you back and forth, while your precious Impala sits in the garage, again! Shut it, and roll your fucking window up!

    i disagree

i do not take care of, or follow strict preventive maint. schedules with my truck

other than a small hiccup with the alternator (that i caused)...my truck is running about as good as the day i bought it...and ive put 100K HARD abusive miles on it

ive also seen some of toyota's previous motors (22R) throw rods and lose multiple cylinders and keep on going like it was nothing

the newer generation of toyota may indeed fall within what you said...but Toyota got its reputation as on of (if not the most) reliable car manufacturer for a reason

Just remember its a full sized truck in every other Country in the world and how many Chevs Dodges and Fords do you see running around in Africa and Australia where real trucks live off road just my observation.
