I actually bought it before I even picked up the new truck and never got around to putting it in. I got the tune and have been holding off until it is finalized. Now that 1.02C is near perfection and 1.03 is near I will put it in. I had one in my 2nd gen and it was fantastic. I ordered it without hesitation for my '17.

Would you suggest the short throw be paired with a relatively heavy shift knob (for smoothness)?

I never bothered on my 2nd gen. I never found one I liked that looked comfortable and wasn't god awful looking.

Understood... And I'd guess you never had problems with that adapter that fits over the end (extension piece)?

I would recommend a weighted shifter personally. It brings the required input for gear changes to just slightly more than stock. The two compliment each other well. I have a flossy grip rod weighing in at 500-something grams

That adapter piece was a bitch to remove when I traded the truck in. If you aren't stupid and do it correctly it will never be an issue. Blue lock-tite and peening the edge of the hole was sufficient. As far as it breaking off, people need to tame their 300lb gorilla behind the wheel. It is not a fragile piece and even with my habit of slapping the shifter to get to reverse it was never a problem.

mine is paired with the heaviest knob I've found. 733g. the whole combo including tires & alignment make it an awesome responsive drive.

I'm back to the stock tune. I put a few hundred km on 1.02c, and it feels decent right away but still has inconsistent power delivery and a couple flat spots that didn't feel good. I've had the 2500rpm moderate load misfire feel since day one, and none of the tunes have fixed that yet. I've run 91 since day one and have replaced the crank sensor, checked the afm etc. I also find that performance decays over time and fuel economy was off about 1.5L/100km. Throttle response goes away and starts to have that turbo lag feel like stock. I've basically come to the conclusion that I will not put the tune on my truck again until I get a manual specific one that is not compromised by the AT.

Sorry to hear that, and except for the misfire it sounds exactly like my experience with 1.02b. What ECM version are you?

Does OvTune eliminate the pedal vibes?

Dramatically reduced them in my case - first alpha release they were reduced quite a bit when it was tuned for premium fuel, then with the latest release I've noticed further smoothing of vibes likely due to the smoothing out he's done with the intake and exhaust. I still occasionally get a bit of pedal vibe but it's nothing like it used to be pre-tune.

You know what - now that I think about it, 1.02B induced far less vibes under load than 1.01B does. We know that 1.01B doesn't have any intake VVT enhancements, only exhaust. Hmmm, interesting
