and not a studded snow tire amongst them!

 

Now that you mention it, I have yet to see a studded tire in NY in years - Here in the burbs people mostly buy All seasons but the smarter ones usually buy Blizzaks

 

I ran snow tires on my Z3 - LOL. with traction control it was great in the winter. Only issue was getting past the burm the snow plow leaves across the bottom of the driveway. Shouldn't be such the issue with the Taco.

 

I was on the same boat with you about 4 years with my Audi TT, 5 years of daily driving and half a dozen broken lips it became far from practical

 

I'm praying we don't lose power tonight. That fucking sucks with two little ones. We lost power the day after labor day, and it sucked.

Getting hammered by rain and crazy wind righ now.

 

Well if you lose power - it won't be one of my trees doing it.
I swear i'm the only person in my neighborhood believes in tree maintenance.

I felt a little silly spreading my vehicles out on the property last night before going to bed. ...but I knew someone who lost all the cars when a tree fell in a storm....
Weather is getting pretty nutty out there now, glad I spread them out now!

 

I'm glad I got rid of this double leader monster a few weeks ago. My previous house was in Northern Danbury on the New Fairfield border and we lost power on a regular basis. Once my wife realized she couldn't flush the toilet during a power outage I got the go ahead for a generator.

 

That tree probably cost you about the same as that generator, but now you've room to put up a pole barn!

 

It definitely wasn't a cheap removal. A few weeks prior a large dead branch fell, ripped the wires off the house, and it all landed where my kids play. Needless to say it's days were numbered. When the tree guy stepped out of his truck to give me the initial quote he looked around and told me that he removed some monster trees from the property twenty five years ago. Too bad he didn't take this one back then.

 

I'm over in Brookfield, and am surrounded by trees. Got a few on my property that should probably get cut down... One of them is huge, so I'm sure it'll be a pretty penny.

 

I'm just down the street in Newtown. If you decide to have the trees removed let me know and I'll pm you the name of the company that did the work at my house.

 

A walk around the yard tomorrow will give you an idea. I'm always picking up branches around my garage from my neighbors tree whenever we get a wind event. I've told (& documented) him that if he doesn't deal w/ the tree he's going to be buying me a new garage. Ah, life in the city!

 

Thank you sir! Luckily my wife works with a lady whose husband removes trees for a living, so we kinda have a "hook up" already.

Not a good night/morning.

My street has no power, but to add to that, I'll be out of it for a few days probably. At about midnight, a loud noise and lights out. Go outside to check it out... A tree fell on my power lines and ripped it clean off the pole on the street. Called Eversource to put in to get it fixed. Called them at midnight, was on hold for almost an hour, but finally picked up. Can't give me an idea of when it'll get fixed, obviously. Kids were asleep, so let them sleep and woke up at 5:30, and came to the in-laws so we could get ready for work. Packed up everything last night so we were ready to roll this morning.
