Water in drivers side door

After my last bit of wheeling, I noticed a sloshing sound coming from the drivers side door. There is a little rubber plug at the bottom back corner of the door. I reefed that out and moved the door around and some little bit of water splashed out. Is there another spot i can pull a plug or should i break out the drill?

There should be drain holes already in the bottom of the door? Water is supposed to flow out that gets in.

If you can find them (3 or 4?) you might be able to clear them with something like a stiff wire. You can also use a small tool to gently pry the opening to be a bit larger.

That will help you clear the hole and potentially keep it from re clogging as easily.

 

I have a look, I may or may not have had mud over the the front headlights..... perhaps that has plugged something up?

Posting 'how' for the good of future readers of this thread would be helpful.

 

Along the length if the door, If you run your fingertips along the bottom, you'll feel three fairly prominent rubber grommets, with oval holes. I took my truck key tip and wiggled it about some in them and water started draining immediately.

 

Another reason to avoid water and mud.

 

Where is the fun in that!

 

I did all that when I was 16-21. Now I rock crawl. The amount of time in cleaning is enough to avoid it.

Also water and mud in diffs, wheel bearing, brakes, suspension, frames, starters, ect takes its toll on your rig.
