I've got 265/70/17 BFG ATs on my 2nd Gen now but they're looking smaller to me by the day. I'm tossing around the idea of selling them and getting 285s...I don't mind trimming the inside of the fenders but I'm not too keen on the body mount chop.

For lift I have Toytec coilovers up front and a 1.5 AAL in the back w/ non-TSB springs. With the 265s, I rub at full turn while in reverse only, haven't looked under the fender to see what exactly the tire is rubbing on.

I'm looking for feedback from people who run an 8" rim w/ a 4.5" backspace and 285s...how much cutting am I going to have to do?

    Thanks:thumbsup:

EDIT: one more thing, I'd like to stay away from spacers

About 1 inch now. I can raise them another 1.5 inches before I have a reverse rake (which I'm trying to avoid)

    Thanks for the reply

good luck with 1.5" and 285's. you will almost gauranteed rub stock uca's and maybe the cab mount and whatever other plastic you will have to cut

Most definately! 2.5 in the front and 1.5 in the rear will still give you a slight rake. and give you more clearance for the 33's.

    1 + 1.5 = 2.5

Still not high enough for the 285s?

youll prob rub the uca and might need a cab mount chop, other than that if you dont wheel ever your good to go

2.5 up front and 1.5 in the rear. you may have minor rubbing but nothing you cant easily fix with a dremel!

That sounds good...what about the body mount?

I need to get to some meets this year and try to find someone with a similar setup that would let me try their 285s on.
