I don't have pants for sale but I just bought a 2017 SR V6 4x4. Love everything about the truck so far and can't wait to get it on the beach for shark fishing! Live in Robinson, PA. Will be towing my boat up to Lake Arthur as often as I can in my new truck!

Anybody know where I can do some off-roading in the area? Relatively new to PA.

Robinson as in Pittsburgh? Closest to you is probably in West Virginia. We have Rausch Creek out here towards the east side in Tremont.

Right...Pittsburgh sorry. There doesn't seem to be too much around here. I'm going to break it in for a thousand miles or so before it goes offroad anyway.

Bummer about that though. I have a cousin in Fairmont, WV so maybe he will know some places.

There are some "drivable trails" in some of the state forests. Was on a couple earlier this year. They weren't much of a challenge for the crawler, but still fun to get out.
A stocker would probably be fun on them.

Is it ok to explore these forest roads without a hunting license?

Good idea! I'm close to lots of state game lands. Will have to do a little looking around--rifle season isn't that far away!

Thanks for the welcome. Going to leave everything stock for warranty purposes but after that it's game on.

    Paranoia anyone?

How about saying to the game commissioner “just exploring this beautiful land with my cool truck. Got any cool suggestions or hidden trail gems you could point me to?”

Then I say “want some beef jerky? I made it myself”

But you were hunting. We’re talking about driving/exploring forest roads. At least that is what I think everyone was talking about.

So you are saying I should get a hunting license, just to drive and explore public forest roads in public land? Even though I don’t want to hunt?

Joe- Instead of paying 50 bucks for a license, do you think if I printed out this press release and circle this key phrase. Will it possibly work?

“DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn. “For that reason, a total of 536 miles of state forest roads normally open only for administrative use will again be available to hunters and others visiting state forestlands this year.”

I’ve driven a LOT of forest roads in the west coast for many years. I just can’t understand why it would be so different and “unfriendly” to a Joe Blow like myself to drive a PA forest road.

This was on the top of my list of future activities. But maybe not anymore, since it sounds like a completely different world to me.

    Is Homer a hunter?
