There is absolutely no comparison between ECT (no tune) and the 1.02C tune. The only way to know is to drive a truck with the tune.

I have not had any bad relearn issue with 1.02C and by my count on here there is two people that have reported it. I have 2K on the 1.02C (a) tune now.

Put 750 miles or so on 1.02C-C and absolutely love it.
Had some issues today towing where it simply wouldn't shift back to 5th after going to 4th, cancelling cruise control then putting it immediately back on gets it to 5th so I imagine it isn't due to the tune.

I put 500 miles on 1.02C-C over the weekend and it performed outstanding in a variety of conditions from driving 80 on the interstate to climbing mountains and plateaus, curvy mountain roads, city traffic, etc., Much of this driving in a heavy, cold, windy rain to boot. Loving this truck more and more all the time. Yes, sometimes there feels like there could be a bit more room for some fine tuning refinement but all in all I'd say this tune is light years ahead of prior releases AND is 600% more enjoyable than any stock tune + ECT or whatever.

Editing: I'd say that right now my only complaints are that my MPGs do seem to be about 1-2 less than with stock or 1.01b and it's not coming back up after putting around 700 or so miles on it. Not a big deal b/c it drives extremely well but it is a consideration esp. for those of us putting the expensive stuff in. That and the simple curiosity I have about reliability given the high RPM situations aren't running as rich and thus are pulling more air into the intake in high load situations than was originally designed - but this really comes down to "can my truck really drive this smooth and powerful without hurting it?" my guess is yes, but only time will tell I suppose.

Was having some similar things creep in - and now I have nearly 700 miles on 1.02c-c and couldn't be happier. I seriously suggest folks who are having issues or concerns w/ 1.02c-a give 1.02c-c a try. May experience a minor hit in MPGs but it's not learning to be stupid on me....

Anyone else waiting for a supercharger?? Ov already said he would release a tune once a super charger gets released for the 3rd gen. I can only see that fixing all the power issues, especially down low

OV tune and most of you guys know more about a tune than I can ever imagine exists. I do know this. A/F 13/1 to make max power. However under certain conditions of heavy load high temp this might be putting the engine on the edge. Then again hopefully timing gets pulled out automatically by knock sensors before the motor goes hand grenade mode.Mnfg always leave some on the table for reliability But in this case it sounds like mostly for economy rather than power and drivability. Mnfg changes the tune and they have to go back through all the emissions, mpg testing all over again.Looks like all 18 will be a candidate for OV tune since same files are use as 17 per OV.

Good call on all points. I can tell you I monitor my truck with an OBD adapter and iPhone app and my temps are still very mild and within low-end of normal range and no knocks are happening with this tune running 93 on the 91 octane tune. It runs really well

So has this replaced the original thread now? I noticed it's kinda dead.

Now that we have remapped up shifts, any plans for remapped downshifts as well?

There is this thread for auto, another for Manual. The original thread was the "dev" or beta thread.

Has anyone had issues with learning mode? Or has that been solved? Thats the only thing holding me back from buying tbh. Other then that everyone seems pretty happy

Just got back from an 800+ mile camping trip to Utah from Colorado. I had a large 160-170 lb CVT Rooftop tent acting like a brick on top of the canopy. Just me and my 85 lb dog and some gear in the bed. Trip from Colorado to Utah includes a couple of big mountain passes up to around 11K ft. Eisenhower Tunnel and Vail Pass, I was curious how the truck would handle this with the extra weight/wind resistance. I'm on 1.02C-C. Pleased to report the truck performed great. It downshifted to 4th when it needed. I did find it would not hold 4th on some of the steepest passes coming back over Eisenhower tunnel but would drop to 3rd, accelerate up the hill and then shif back to 4th. Keep in mind, I was passing most everyone on this stretch. My Fuel MPG per Fuelly was 20 mpg, 20.4 mpg and 19.4 mpg.

Very familiar with that drive - what was your average speed jetting across i70? I can't get anywhere near those MPGs in hilly TN for an interstate drive and with your RTT we have about the same weight in our trucks (perhaps I have less wind resistance). Driving 75ish on the interstate I'm good to get 17-18 (and actually slightly less on 1.02C-C) even though I agree with your review. Good shifting behavior overall and smooth power delivery

Keep in mind I have stock tires with about 20K on them. Honestly, the MPG kind of surprised me in a good way. Utah is 80 mph and I was probably doing 70-75. I don't usually use cruise and usually get better MPG when I don't. I was probably doing 60-70 up most of the passes. I was flying up the pass coming home just to see how the tune would do.

One other thing - truck lifetime on Fuelly miles tracked (18,600 miles) is avg 20.7. My truck sees a fair amount of hwy and my job lets me usually avoid sitting in rush hour traffic. I do notice that if i am just driving around town mpg on computer will show 15-18 but I usually manage to get enough hwy in that it off sets that. The best tank i ever got was 22.5.

While difficult to understand your post, what I believe you're describing sounds like the power loss that comes on due to a faulty CKP sensor.
