Well I had a busy weekend. Spent Saturday night/Sunday morning in Hartford, then spent most of Sunday night in Boston.Good times, but oh my god Fuck the Mass Pike. Also, CT drivers are fucking dickweeds.

It might help the power and even possibly the reliability, but it isn't going to change the capacity of the truck. The new 5.6 with the 7 speed actually seems like a pretty decent setup. One of the big issues with the Xd is it isn't what they claim. It's supposed to bridge the gap between the half tons and the 3/4 tons. The problem with that theory is, some of the half tons with the heavy payload packages are already have higher payload ratings than some 3/4 ton trucks. It's bridging a gap that doesn't exist. Towing and hauling capacities are nearly identical to the current offering of half tons (actually lower in a lot of cases). Towing, it's arguably more stable because it is built more stout than some of the other half tons. But, if you're regularly pushing the limits of your half ton, you probably should be in a 3/4 ton anyways in which case, you'll pass right over the Titan Xd because you'll be legally overloaded. I want to like the Titan Xd (gas or diesel), but it's just not meant to be.

They actually make the crappy ones now. There are companies making electric ride on toys for kids that are pretty neat. Full suspension, rubber tires, headlights, 4wd.

    So,
I've got 42K on my 2015 DCSB and the windshield is starting to show all the pits.
    I hate a dirty windshield.
I was in the car wash business a long time ago and learned that if the windshield is clean everything else looks much better.
Do you think the Insurance will cover a new one if I bitch?
I'm just thinking about it and looking for opinions, experience.

I need to do this real bad. Degreasing the inside of the windshield really helps too.

I have cleaned the inside very well. I smoke so it's done often.
I haven't tried clay bar on the outside. I didn't know this was a thing.
I be worried about it clay bar hazing the hole thing.

I was able to get insurance to cover one for that very reason. Mine was really pitted up, I had a few small stars in it also. It would pass inspection but very pitted.
If you learned to drive in MA, you are graced with another title and, since you moved to CT, have been promoted to dickweed :)

    Hey Jeff,

I have an 06 tdi that I run up and down to work everyday (for the fuel economy) and it sees basically nothing but highway. At around 60k my windshield was terribly pitted. I figured, for shits and giggles, I called my insurance company and explained my situation. I told them that in sunny conditions I could barely see due to the putting and felt it was a safety issue. They said “no problem”. I had a new one put in the next day. They didn’t even put up a fight. Not sure if that’d differ from one provider to another. It’s worth a shot. Worked for me. I have Allstate.

    Good luck

That's the answer I was looking for.
My problem is mostly at night.
I've heard a long time ago that insurance companies would like you to be able to see when you're driving.
    Go figure!!
I wasn't sure if they still cared.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Did the alternator on the truck today - can't believe how quiet the truck is now... almost like driving a new truck... Took me about 1.5hrs to do the job because I had to remove the entire battery and the battery cage (group 31 battery and pelfrybilt cage)
