Does anyone know it the 2015 Tacoma's are prewired for the factory temp/compass module that attaches too the headliner?

I installed an auto-dimming mirror with outside temperature, compass and homelink. It was plug and play except I had to run a wire for the temperature probe.

My 14 was pre wired for 12v as well. I bought a Gentrex 261 off eBay for pretty cheap and spliced into the factory hot plug that wasn’t being used under the overhead console.

OP if you don’t buy a plug and play option from here and you snip the factory plug to splice in, you may pop a fuse that causes your airbag and traction control warning lights to come on. In the under hood fuse box there will be a 7.5 amp fuse toward the front and driver side of the fuse box. That’s the fuse that has popped and once replaced everything will work just fine. I freaked out and did a lot of forum digging to fix that little $0.25 issue.

So the plug and play you are talking about is a factory unit that goes in place of the current light and sunglasses holder ?

I don't know how the headliner units will fit in a 2015, I think they were offered in early 2nd gens. The others above are talking about the temp display mirrors, which I have installed in my 2015 bought from Bob in this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...for-the-2009-15-tacomas-other-toyotas.328083/

I like his kit because it comes with a wiring harness that is pretty much plug and play, assuming your truck is prewired, as not all are apparently (check up under the headliner/sunglasses holder by the mirror). You will need to run the wire for the temperature probe through the firewall though, which was a hassle but not too difficult.

I’m not aware of a plug and play temp/compass for the console in the later 2nd gens but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I added a rear view mirror with temp and compass in it. Super easy to do and the Gentrex mirrors look OEM so it’s clean as well.

The post just above this one gives the link to the plug and play option available on the forum. I went a different route and just bought a used mirror from a chevy truck on eBay. Either is a good option since we don’t have a compass and temp gage from the factory.
