They will not put the 6 speed manual in the SR. They want to push the very few that still enjoy manuals to the upper trim levels.

People who drive trucks for work know how to drive manual transmissions and companies who buy work trucks buy the cheapest one they can. It just baffles me that what they call their WORK TRUCK they get rid of the workiest of work trucks.

Most of the companies that buy fleet SR trucks buy the automatic

It's really simple. Most people in The US and Canada can't drive manual transmission trucks or cars so why would Toyota make something so few will buy? Will the new Ranger offer a manual for the North American market?

Doesn't matter at this point. I'm not wasting money on a TRD just to get a manual, and the fact that Toyota had a manual 4cyl with 4wd was awesome and swayed me towards another Tacoma.

But, they don't anymore, and there's no point in getting another Tacoma since there is nothing that draws me to it.

I'd buy one. More gears are better. Lowers RPM for highway cruising

Yup, Toyota has lost 1% of their sales because previous manual drivers won't buy the cheap entry level SR with a stick. I don't think they are going to lose any sleep over it.

Toyota clearly wants everybody in a TRD, so why even offer the Sr and Sr5

Do you know how much engineering goes into things like a go pro mount on the windshield from the factory? They have no time to build a basic truck--the same basic truck that is the sole reason for their success today.

Why does Ford offer 7 different trims for the F150.

More choices clearly means less sales.
