So while we are on the subject. What’s the info on running a 9” and keeping the ABS, speedo, blah blah all working?

I saw something the other day about transfer case gears and stuff but didn’t have enough reference to fully understand.

Hmmmmm maybe I should sell the +6 fenders and go with +4 all around and the 2.5 kit. I was also looking at putting the camburg L/T spring-under kit on with the TC rear shock hoop kit instead of full cage in the bed?

Semi float FJ outers with the tone rings and all that hoopla. You can order it configured correctly from Currie. I ditched ABS and moved the speedo sensor to the T-case on mine

Are you talking about their way to expensive Toyota axle? It’s great and if I won 5 figures from the lottery on a $5 scratcher I would be all over it. But the price they want for a housing and 3rd is the price of a 1st gen Tacoma... Wanted to see if I could do something a little more reasonable.

ABS on our trucks is horrible - I was going to delete it, but building my first gen instead - glad that didn't have it.

Again, I'll reiterate what I said earlier. "Long Travel" and "Cheap" will never be found in the same sentence unless were talking about my 2nd gen for sale cuz that bitch is gunna sell for cheap! You wanna 9" rear end, and you wanna keep all that stupid ABS bullshit be prepared to pony up some serious $$$

I'll bet im close to $9k into my 9" when its all said and done and as @dirt addiction pointed out I stayed semi float hubs in the rear so it can get higher.

if you are gunna swap axles....don't be a sissy and just delete the abs....that shit is retarded. move the speed sensor to your tcase if your 4wd. if not tie your sensor wires to your front ones so your tranny will still shift and speedo will work. or buy a lowrance and mount it to your dash for your speed. 6" glass on a 3.5 kit is a bit overkill you only need a 4"ish fender. a built 9"(correctly) will cost you round 4-9K. seriously folks if you are gunna heavily modify your truck but"oh I want to keep all the stock safety features" just stop

I never said anything about abs hell that wasn't even on my radar, I could care less about it seems kinda shitty to me. Im only 2wd, good to know about the 6 vs the 4 as I don't have them In my possession yet ill just cancel the order.

I am all for spending the money I don’t have... but on stuff that matters. I for sure don’t want an econoline 28 spline 9” so I can say I swapped for less cash just to say I swapped. But I also for sure don’t want to just blow the cash on some fancy axle just because it has all the buzz words like “Currie” and “35 spline” and all that fun stuff that guys go crazy for on #instagram.

The notes on the t-case are helpful. Link to said parts? There are endless 9” options out there, that’s what makes them so cool. It would be great to be on the $4-6k side so I can spend the other $3k on more shocks! Not cheap, just not overpriced...

Its funny that you think Currie is a "buzzword". I think you have a lot of research to do. $4-6K isn't a crazy idea, but you're not going to get everything you want. The 3rd member alone on my truck was pushing $3k when it was all said and done just to give you an idea what kind of $ were talking about
