What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I’m getting a used set of Lcas and replacing the bushings and stuff, I don’t know what brand yet... Whiteline didn’t have anything on their website..

 

When it comes time to replace my LCA bushings, I don't think I will mess around with swapping out the bushings. I think a new OEM LCA is the way to go.

FWIW, there are no aftermarket stock length LCAs for 1st gens. The only replacement arms out there (besides OEM) are for long travel setups.

Whiteline W53377A will fit perfectly they just don't list it for Tacoma's.

 

Negative on that there are a bunch of stock length LCA's out there, Moog, Dorman, Mevotec to name a few.

 

Thats what I was looking for! Stock length. I wonder which brand to go with

 

I think he meant upgraded LCA's, as in fabricated/boxed/tubular arms that are stronger than stock.

 

Toyota duh when I did my front end I just couldn't pull the trigger on an aftermarket brand after spending so much on Oem lbjs,and tre's. I actually got lucky and found a Amazon warehouse deal on an oem lca with bushings for like 55 bucks, it's only the right side but my drivers side bushings are okay for now but I'm always looking.

 

This VVV No reason to cheap out on moog crap.

EDIT sorry @Digiratus I posted a second too late, but yes I get what you meant your wording just made it seem like oem or long travel were literally the only option.

 

I have an annoyed noise coming from my front end! It's driving me nuts. I've greased the UCA and added tri flow to my uniball that didn't fix it. I usually happens as I'm coming to a stop and I let off the brake. I'm wondering if maybe my coils are squeaking from the extra weight of the winch I just added two weeks ago? I tried to upload a video but it isn't working unfortunately.

 

Get under there while a friend shakes the truck, usually can pinpoint a big issue that way. I can tell you with aftermarket custom stuff comes little unwanted noises, my truck makes lots of them... sorta comes with the territory.

 

My least favorite of thing with aftermarket stuff.

Is the bottom CO mount rubber or is it a heim? Looks like you have Icon COs. Put a little tri-flow on the lower heim joint to see if the noise goes away.

I'll definitely give it a shot.

 

I'm not sure of the best place to order them, I ended going a different route for now. I do know for a fact though that those bushings will fit perfectly due to many hours of researching and helping a buddy put some in his 3rd gen 4runner (same LCA except for sway bar mounts or lack there of)

 

I do a lot of highway driving into the mountains in snowy conditions. Body roll sounds scary and possibly lethal.

 

If you have stock suspension I wouldn't even consider removing it. But with aftermarket stiffer suspension, that bar is just trash and makes the ride rougher.

I have stock right now but planning to add nitros and 881s soon. I already have the coils, just need to buy the shocks.
