5 months at sea? 2 fat dogs and the darker complexioned one wasn't any slouch herself in the "weight" department. Peanut butter, thats the answer. They survived on peanut butter, and they had to keep their moral up. Win win for everyone.

Appel, though, said she modified her sailboat, called the Sea Nymph, by adding six tons of fiberglass to the hull to make it thicker and heavier and extend the keel to a depth of 8.5 feet to give the boat greater stability.

    6 tons of fiberglass!?!?

They said they did not activate the fully functional EPRIB because they were not in immediate danger, but also say they thought they'd be dead within 24 hours of when they were rescued? Put these two carpet munchers back on the boat until they get a story straight.

They said they set out with a year's worth of supplies on board. Their explanation for how and when they sent signals sounds reasonable to me (a non-sailor); they weren't in imminent danger, so why put anyone else in danger to come get them?

I dunno. If they were attention seekers they would have done it differently methinks. Who goes to sea for several months just to get interviewed on daytime TV. I think the press twisted the story around to make it sound more sensational, and now those twists are making the sailors themselves look bad. But I could be wrong.

So what exactly was wrong with their boat, apart from the motor taking a dump?
The sails looked ok in the one picture...

I think the 24 hours thing was related to their expectation of losing their boat due the bad tow they were getting.

Since I do not know, this is an actual question....why didn't he just taser her? Don't all officers carry a taser? She would have dropped at the onset if he would have done that. :notsure:

A Fredonia mom tied her 9-year-old son to the roof of the family minivan so he could hold down a molded plastic pool they'd just purchased, a criminal complaint said.

A similar event for image reference.
