So I know y'all have heard it before "ER MA GERD THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHTS FLASHING!!!!!!!! WUT DO I DOOOOO???????" well that happened to me, and I know the whole shpeal with it. What confuses me is it came on as I was driving home from Manassas yesterday (about a 30 min drive), and did the flashing/staying on up til I got home from Sterling today(about an hour drive, light flashed when I started the truck and was on the whole drive). When I pulled in my driveway I was sitting in my truck texting for a few minutes and it turned off. Idk what caused it to turn off, cause if a sensor is malfunctioning/dead, I highly doubt it magically fixed itself, considering it was on for a good 24 hours. Any ideas? 2009 Tacoma regular cab 2WD if that means anything

You're nearing end of life for the TPMS sensor batteries, so that's a possibility.

So it's possible the light turned off because the battery of the sensor that wasn't working died?

I would think the TPMS light would stay lit if it was a bad report from a sensor.

I think you're fine, any issues with the system and I think it defaults to illuminated dash light.

I don't if it's true of the 2009 but my '08 has 5 sensors and right about this time of year I've had the TPMS light flash on. It's because it's getting colder outside and I've forgotten to check the pressure in the spare.

When air gets cold in a container the pressure goes down and being under the bed and off the pavement when you drive the difference between the 4 on the road (as friction and the sun are heating them up) and the 5th gets large enough that the system thinks you have a flat.

Easy to check and eliminate anyway.

'09 doesn't have a sensor in the spare, and all the other tire's pressure's are good. I had checked them after driving it for an hour, and they were all right where they were supposed to be, +-1psi

Then I'd guess batteries are getting old, cold temps make them weaker as well.
