Leather seat HELP

Im thinking of putting leather seat on my truck. Question is, whats the difference (pro and con) on using the just leather seat cover (go over OEM cloth) and leather seat (one that you actually ripped off the OEM cloth)?

The one that just go over it is much cheaper, but is there any disadvantage?
Cus, I've seen it in person that they actually tucked-in perfectly

I'm currently waiting for my leather kit to come in the mail from CST. I STOLE this kit at $349.00 SHIPPED! It was on their clearance list.
I plan to post an entire "how to" on here for anyone who would like to do this mod themselves, as I worked for CST as an installer once upon a time.
If your willing to wait a few weeks & see for yourself how it's done........
The seat covers DO loook good, but does not quite compare to an installed leather kit.
I'm also doing heated seats at the same time - got a good deal on ebay on a pair of kits for the front seats for $140.00
I'll have the seats out anyway, might as well do it at the same time!
Bottom line - NEW LEATHER DYI INSTALL $500.00
Can't beat that!

 

Just got the Kit today. Will hopefully complete install this weekend...

I got the kit in the mail from CST 2 days ago. This afternoon I dropped the 2 front seat backs and the passenger side rear seat back off at a friends shop. They own an embroydery shop & I'm having "TRD" put on both fronts & the center of the rear seat. I'm still waiting on the heated seat kits for the fronts. Once all this is finished I'll schedule a weekend to do the install. It's going to take longer than a normal one because I'll be taking pic's during the entire process. I still plan on posting an entire "How to" for the process.

OP, i say replace the OEM covers as in the katzkin install, will be so much nicer IMO.

 

Lol... Naw she was in the middle of taken out the door panels to have the cloth piece done in leather and the shift boot and the center console lid.. She wants everything to match, before the seats were done

There's a little delay on this build... I got an email last night from my embroidery friend & she can't to the logo unless i have the seat back panel removed.
She sent me a link to a local shop & I think this will only delay me a couple of days & set me back another $85.00
I'm still waiting on the heated seat kits....

Dude, I wish I had as much $ as you! I've seen your other posts on the leather... Love the interior!!! I agree the custom stitching is sharp! I'm really trying to stick to a buget though...

Do the replacement seat covers. Much better fit. The install is pretty easy as well. Took me about 6 hours on a saturday afternoon to swap mine out. I installed the black katzkin kit in mine. $675 shipped off of ebay.
