Sounds good, but this kit isn't 4x4 compatible. 2wd only. :bikewhoops:

What would keep it from being aside from what I mentioned? Just to clarify I was joking though.

It's solid where your axle would slide into the spindle.

My bad I was thinking of using stock spindles, but forgot about the horizontal uniball :anonymous:

Anyway, heck of a good deal - good luck with the sale :)

Yeah unless you heavily modify your stock spindle it wouldnt work, and in my opinion not worth the trouble. Thanks, kinda surprised its still here. Gonna post up on craigslist i think now and make a new race dezert ad.

RD would probably sell it quicker - most guys go with bolt on stuff here. It does make a difference going up to a 10" coilover - what are you going to do with your truck?

Was going to do the bolt on route also. I'd need a bigger motor for that kit for 35s. My truck is a tired 2.7 so I figured 285s would probably be right at the cutoff for daily driving. Truck is due for a motor now though so might not even pull trigger on the suspension quite yet.. my friend said there's a place near by that did a crate motor swap in his dad's 4Runner for 2300 installed and done. I dunno.. tempting to just drop a new power plant in and be done with the egr issues I've been having and now misfire that I can't pin point the cause of.

I know a lot of people have done the 3.4 swap, but I think only having one vehicle right now, that's too big of a project. Computer, wiring, all that has to be changed. Too much trouble. I need minimal down time. Also a reason I was going to install a chaos kit, I can install it in a weekend.

There's a guy on here with another regular cab that swapped in a 5vz for his 2.7 and it's definitely not a weekend project like you said.

If (and that's a big if) you have one or two friends to help you on certain parts of the job like separating the engine from the trans and lining them back up, you prep the new engine so it's all ready to drop in by having all the hoses and bolts / studs you want to replace, and you don't run into any unexpected snags, I'd say 3 days is enough time to swap in a new engine of the same kind. Removing the wiring harness was the worst part for me (after separating the trans lol), but you'll have more room to work with with the 4 banger. If you end up doing it after my swap is done (probably Turkey day weekend) then you can use my cherry picker.

seriously! I feel like the only reason i still have it is cause ive been too lazy to post on race dezert. and was trying to give the tacoma world family the jump on it.
My poor truck is in the shop getting a motor.. been driving my boss's long travel bronco and the shop super duty for a week now. The guy is now telling me its gonna be $800 more than what he quoted me because the warehouse has a "premium" for my motor.. which sounds like mechanic mumbo jumbo to me..

What did the bill end up being for the engine replacement?
