On the former you're probably thinking of Fenwick or someone else lmao.
Yes, and when you prep food for others and the occasional face scratch I'd rather not have grimy/oily hands

Nope. I'm talking about from back in the good ol' days when we played PS3 on mic and I sucked at Battlefield, maybe?

Stainless steel brake lines, Custom leather wrapped steering wheel, Haltech stand-alone ECU,
The meth kit can be setup different ways, 1) at a targeted rpm or at a boost level.
Mine is setup at 4.5 pounds of boost and sprays all the way up while cooling the engine.
The premium gas can deal with the ping issues below 4.5 pounds, but I have 2" pulley
at 6000 feet so the methanol kit is needed. If I run a 2.1 pulley Inhave zero ping issues at 6000 feet.
It's not about the nozzle so much as these engines use the smallest nozzle for the meth kit. The nice thing about a methonal kit is you can setup it up to spay at any point. If your four wheeling your not going to be
going over 4.5 pounds of boost very often, but you could change the setting to spray at a certain rpm instead or lower boost point
if its very hot to cool off the supercharger, By 100 degrees or so. The death of any supercharger is heat and the 7th injection system does not fix the heat issues when hot or heat soaked. The issue is the supercharger gets hot and if it over heats it will causes the oil and bearing and nose seal to fail in time. A supercharger creates a lot of heat 1 pound of boost equals to 10 more degrees of heat. Each engine is a little different on how
it pings or when. I'm luck my engine never pings unless I run a 2" pulley, the power difference from
the 2.1" pulley to a 2" pulley is about 2 extra pounds of boost and is VERY noticeable.
I also have an EGR so the 7th injection system is not an option.
Because my engine only needs spray above 4.5 pounds of boost I don't use much methonal at all,
I run it hard every once and a while, but I am at 1500-1700 miles per tank before I need a gallon
to be added to the windshield tank. So the meth kit is fantastic for some and maybe not for others.
For me It was the best add on for 500.00 done in about 3 hours, and no need to get a new fuel pump
or larger injectors or no need to add anything to the ECU. It's a great fix for me and now NO heat
soaked supercharger anymore and close to 10 pounds of boost.
9-10 pounds of boost means ALL the new Tacoma and 4runners are always in the rear view mirror with easy.

Dang dude don't get tangled up in those shoes

Do you ever have heat issues with the charger during the summer in Texas?

Nope no heat issues. Recently upgraded my cooling system so it's been fine.

Well here's another question...How would you know if you were getting too hot? Would you see decreasing AFR?

My ultra gauge, nominal engine temp range IIRC is 170-205 have seen up to 201 pre-upgrade so not too bad.

Eh doesn't worry me. The extra fuel delivered is a confidence booster.

I just don't like the discrepancy of refill times on meth. If I had to do it every fill up, that would get old real quick. If it's once every 5-6 tanks of gas, that's more reasonable.

I don't either which is why the 7th was more practical for me. A lot of people run it with no issues.

Believe it or not I don't run my truck very hard, the highest rpms that I do get into has been maybe 4500 and that's not often. Only when I'm feeling ambitious or really want to pass someone up. Staying in 2100-3000 is where you'll see longevity and is plenty of power for anything. And like stated that 7th injector is there as a failsafe, as an auto you'll fuck your trans before you screw the block.

As it is right now, I drive like a grandpa because of fuel mileage. If I were to boost it, I'd most likely continue my driving habits after the newness wears off. Haha. I'd like to do it as modestly as possible

Which is very smart. Believe me on payday you'll be driving just for fun! You might even see an increase in mileage like I did depending on your habits. You'll get up to gear faster and won't have to depend on feeding the pedal as much. A smaller pulley is a must too cause more boost!

I was thinking I would do the 7th kit and a URD 2.2 pulley. Until I read about meth lasting 5-6 tanks of gas. Now it's back to square one I guess

I guess that's all up to you! If TRD worried the s/c platform couldn't deliver safely without a need for meth injection they would either have never offered it or developed their own kit, which isn't feasible to the typical buyer. So I guess I'm saying there's nothing wrong with going the 7th route, however it sounds like even keeping up with gas on a truck that gets mediocre mpgs when naturally aspirated is a task itself - then you'd have to worry about another fuel source that you need to keep purchasing on top of premium grade fuel. It's your call to whatever you're more comfortable with.

When I first started boosting I was in the same boat with it being a daily and having to exclusively get premium in a what, 15-17 mpg truck... The truck will relearn your driving habits and shift points post-install which is also a plus.
