This pricing sheet is directly from Toyota's site as well showing SR models will be available in 2018:
    http://pressroom.toyota.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=3890

This also shows that the only manual transmission models are V6 TRD Sport (7543, 7559), TRD Off Road (7545) and TRD PRO (7597).

Tundra has disks for towing and its a bigger truck, disks advantage is the ability to dissipate heat faster than drums. The Tundra isn't used as much as an off road vehicle as the taco is.

I think this is more right. When I was trying to buy my Taco in 2015 I wanted a stick shift Access Cab and wasn't stuck on new or old, V6 or I4. I actually wanted a new truck in SR or SR5 but the dealer couldn't get any and ones that did come in were already sold. After about 6 months I finally found something with low enough miles (that was my main criteria, not a ton of miles and a price ceiling), which happened to be a used TRD OR that I'm actually stripping of unnecessary stuff and making into more of a base truck anyway. Point being, Toyota could have sold me a brand new 2015 but didn't.

I don't have a problem with the rear drums or the non LED headlights.
I would like a seat with lumbar support and A/C ventilation for after a hard day of work. I will take our family car for all the other creature comforts.

I was buying my new 17 and asking a lot of questions about the 18 to see if I should wait....you know that new Safety Sense?

It doesn’t even work if you get a tow package!!! hahaha so don’t hold your breath if you are wanting the new tech and need to tow.

Have you read the manual? It works with the tow package but is recommended to disable when towing. Big difference. Do some research. Every 2018 v6 Tacoma comes with the tow package and TSS-P.

Here is the link to help you from spewing regurgitated stealership phlegm

Nope sure didn't read it thanks for the correction...knew I shouldn't have trusted the sneaky stealer...damn should have done MORE research. Oh well, I do like the wheels I got with my truck...

Never trust anyone who’s job is to take as much money from you as they can. If it isn’t written down it is not real. No offense to you just tired of the dealership employees speculating and people taking it as gospel.

All good none taken brother - i'm more upset with myself...I'm not usually the kind of person who believes the dealer, trust.

I HAD 4 wheel discs on a truck once. 1999 Sierra. At 150k i was installing CALIPER set #3. 150k...six discs, six calipers, three sets of pads. My "old tech" 2012 toyota is on Factory drums/shoes...167k.

The Camry gets 301hp of torque, certainly the lighter frame would help too, whereas we get 278 hp at 6000 rpm and 359 N·m (265 lb·ft) at 4600 rpm. Which are very high rpm ranges.
I wanted to know if a Taco can be tuned like the Camry's engine.

100 year old technology, and gasoline doesn’t require it like diesel does, so as far as North America and tacomas go, not a chance. Electric vehicles are the future, sadly. But not turbos in Toyota’s production North American truck.
