Asian Redneck 13' Tacoma and 1975 Honda CB550 Cafe Racer Build (Picture Heavy)

The only ones in my aria are either longbed or the wrong color. I have been thinking about just getting a mismatched one and painting it my self but I want to get something from a junkyard to test my painting I.E. old fender or door, and I don’t know if I want to invest in the painting stuffs just for one project.

 

You can even vinyl wrap it; quick and easier.

 

Honestly painting really isn't that hard. Just buy a harbor freight paint gun go to a local paint shop and have them set your gun up. Thats what I did and I painted my hood and it turned out great, I had absolutely no experience.

 

Do you know if any one sells factory Toyota colors that are vinyl?

I just did mine this last Sunday, I custom painted to match my truck, good luck, if u have any questions feel free to ask, there was some queeking we had to do to align the projectors but no cutting or shaving off

 

Thanks man! Did you do any surface prep before you painted the bowls? Also how long did it take you to do from start to finish?

 

I scuffed it with 400 sand grid. I had a buddy helping me out, he did retrofitting about 4 times to his trucks, took us about 4 hours, wiring and alignment was tricky

That's quick haha! I'll start on mine this Saturday. I had thought about color matching the bowls and paint the bezel black. Not sure if that will look good. My other option is all satin black and paint the dtrl bowl yellow.

So today I started on part one of my retrofit, and that is modifying the shrouds to fit my led halos flush on the surface and painting them satin black.

Material:




Part 1: Modifying the shroud. I used a dremel to make a cutout so the wires can go through and sit flush.



Part 2: Sanding the shrouds


Part 3: Painting the shrouds. I put 4 coats of paint on there.

Thanks! Today I'll epoxy the halos on to the shrouds and wait for it to dry completely.

 

So I installed the halos on the shrouds today. I used some acetone to remove some of the paint to get better adhesion. I used J B Weld 5min epoxy; I seen people use wire to hold them in place but I didn't like that you can see the wire. Tomorrow I'll take my projectors apart to do the passive demon eye.
