How exactly are these wired in? Left right tail light brake light is pretty self explanatory but how about for the rtl-b the blue and amber is that just in or off?
    I'm running a switch pros.

Thanks for posting up. I've attached the instructions for mounting and wiring of our RTL Series Lights. The Blue on the RTL-B can be switched On/OFF. The Amber steady and Amber Flashing will come on together. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Oh okay I understand a little better now thanks. Just one more question when running on the street I am able to shut of the blue but am I also able to shut off the amber/amber flashing, and just use the unit as a brake light? I'm sure the police will pull me over in a heartbeat if they see flashing lights.

You would have to manually turn on the amber/amber flashing with a switch. The brake lights will come on whenever you hit your brakes.

I would not advise running them on the street, although I have with no issues.

Thanks for posting this!. I have been looking up and down for the install Manual.
I see a problem with running the RTL on the street though....

The BRAKE light(yellow wire) will ONLY light up if the RUNNING LIGHT(red wire) is powered.
But, The Running Light AND Amber Flash are on the same wire...
So I would have to be cruising around with the running lights+Amber just to get the brake light to work??
Please correct me if I'm wrongo_O

For the RTL-B the Blue can be switched ON/OFF independent of the other functions. The Amber Steady and Amber Flashing will both come ON when the taillight/red running lights are on. There is NO way to turn the Ambers OFF with the taillight/red running lights on. Same applies for the RTL and RTL-G. You can't separate the Amber from the Red. The RTL-S is the only model that can turn the Amber ON/OFF separate of the taillight/red running lights.

Has anyone looked into running this? I was looking to have this set up to be visible behind my RTT, but wonder street legality if there would be any issue in having the RTL-S? My goal here was to have a functional solution to recreate my third brake light since the RTT covers up the original one and for some added visibility.

I never got around to mounting mine, but I fired it up to check the light output. I think it would be fine for street use, it's bright but there aren't a ton of LED's.. they are more spread out. My only gripe was the brake light can only turn on when power to the running light circuit was applied as well. The only work around I found was tying the 2 wires(brake and running) together to the brake wire

Are you planning to install yours? I was hoping I could get this to function really similar to how my current third brake light does with the coordinating signals. I would assume if wired in right it would mimic my taillights though right?

No, I ended up selling it. Already have 28 Baja lights outside.. this would have been a little too much.
Yeah you can mimick the stock 3rd brake. I would extend the wires down to the tail lights and tap each L & R turn signal, then run the brake into the running+brake wires of the RTL-S. last, you'll have the wire that activates the white LEDS, tap into your dome light... or even better throw it on a toggle switch for anytime work lights

Ah ok...well that makes a lot more sense now! How were the wiring leads from the RTL? I assume they had shrinkwrapped long individual wires that spliced into tail lights? Would be cool to make some sort of plug in for them for some quick dis-connects.

Although it's a stout bar.. depending on your application(and location) may not fit well. Their rock lights are pretty badass and Much much smaller. You could do red, white and amber too. In the end prob be the same cost if not more... but just an option.

Can you post a close up of the optic used inside? I want something like this on the rear of the TRS FJ and the only current option in contention before I saw this was the KC Hilites bar.

Does this work for you? Are you looking for the optics or the LED? Let me know if you need anything else.
