as of right now I currently have the rough country spacer lift with the rc shocks in the rear and all I can say is, they put the ROUGH in rough country. ive been looking around on headstrong offroad to get an idea of what to get and ive decided to go with the HS 2" coils for the front paired with 5100's as for the rear I plan on keeping the blocks but as for shocks I'm not sure if I should get the extended length 5100 or the standard? any opinions and answers would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to just have the lift for looks and smooth ride, go with what you said, but if you plan on taking it off-roading, I would suggest getting rid of the blocks and getting a shackle flip kit, add a leaf, or a whole new and bigger leaf pack.

probably the most off roading I do is dirt or gravel roads, some slight inclines, few light mudholes nothing major...pretty much light stuff, living in eastern ky and southern wv we have a lot of coal mine roads and mountain top removal strips we can ride on haha

When your tired of axle wrap and the leafpack being flat/frowning, get a new leafpack. Blocks make both of these problems worse.

If the leaf springs arent totally flat yet, you can do an add a leaf. Offroad or not, blocks make things worse

the leafs are perfect as of right now, ive always heard the AAL makes the ride insanely harsh, is that true?

Get a progressive add a leaf and it will remain compliant.
The ass end will also buck less over bumps in the road.

    Dakar (OME) leaf springs
    Bilsteins for the rear extended
    Bilsteins for the front extended
PAC racing coils are really nice.
If you REALLY want to help yourself out, get some Light Racing UCAs. It'll help a lot with ride quality. If you have any concerns or questions feel free to message me.

the whole leaf pack is pretty much a no go, I'm waiting until tax season to use some of that for my suspension upgrade. I have a budget of around 600ish and I added up the total of all 4 5100 and the front coils to be right at $558.48 oh and that's adding in the 1/4 spacers to prevent lean

well I originally looked at the icon but that would push me well over my budget, as for the fron HS coils I read up on them and the OME, everything said you cant go wrong either way

Toytec Progressive AAL with factory overload removed. 200-250 bucks (you can get them cheaper if you find them used
Bilsteins extended all around (you can find some used easily here on the 2nd gen marketplace, just keep your eyes peeled)
PAC coils (about 90 bucks each)

I know you hate your lift and I get that. I had spacers and blocks for my original lift and I hated it. I think you should consider putting this money away and waiting another year to upgrade. Or just slowly upgrade, accumulate the parts overtime. In the end, you'll be much happier if you don't settle.

ya know, man youre 100% right, settling and honestly ignorance of what a good quality lift for these trucks really costs is what screwed me the first time. I can easily do the shocks and coils come tax season and then eventually get UCA and the progressive AAL down the road I'm sure for the time being when I get the 5100 and new coils the ride will already improve dramatically.

You're absolutely right, before you buy anything (these are my last .02 because I'm running out of pennies) do as much research as you can. It's important to not make a mistake. The RC lift kit at the time seemed like a good idea but now in retrospect, it's not. The shocks will help a ton along with the coils. Going over speed bumps for the next year will be a pain in the ass but it'll be worth the wait if you do it right!

5100s up front will provide all the travel our IFS can handle. The HS coils have gotten good reviews.

You only need extended rear shocks if you replace the stock leaf pack. 5100s will be fine.

Keep in mind that an alignment needs to be part of that budget.

I haven't added in the labor to the equation yet, however knowing the guy who owns the shop mutually as a family friend it should run me around $300ish give or take a few, for all labor alignment included...that is if everything goes as planned lol, even though it never does

Hope that your LCA bolts aren't seized in the bushings

    :fingerscrossed:

Mine seized solid in 3 years from buying the truck new. Getting them cut out, replacing the hardware and buying new LCAs sucked.

If you know how to turn a wrench, you can do the rear end yourself. The front is a tad bit more complex, but I believe HS will assemble the 5100s and Coils for you so you can just swap them out.
