Optional leather in TRD models would be nice. I may go for that. EDIT FOUND IT. I already was looking at one with Blind-spot monitor and rear parking assist (sonar). Those are on the wife's van and I really do like both of those features. I know those aren't necessarily part of TSS, but I guess I mean I like driver assist items, usually.

If waiting for the tech "nanny" additions and that pleases you....sure.

If waiting for Toyota to resolve all of the flaws or glitches... nope. It will be the same truck in that sense.

Don’t hold your breath on debugged or any fixed issues.

Bear in mind.. 2017 Tacoma’s and 2005 Tacoma’s share some of the same “vehicle characteristics.”

Toyota doesn’t have any kind of track record that would suggest that the 2018 will be a anything remotely near a perfected 2017.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!

This is not true --if you read your manual, you can choose to use a conventional cruise control if you do not want to use the "adaptive version" How do I know? we have a 15 outback with the "eyesight system" and that is in your manual --if you read it!

    Apples to apples my friend.
The post is referring to the Subaru Eyesite safety system. The eyesite System does automatically shut off in direct sunshine. If one chooses to use standard cruise control over the eyesite safety system then you are correct. OP was referring to safety systems not manual systems.

I have a 16' SR5 and have been very pleased with it. I have a tech that has done all the TSB's whether I had a problem or not. Will probably trade in 19' or 20' but am not interested in all that "safety stuff". My wife drives a 16' Lexus with all that "safety/warning" crap on it...wheel vibrates if you deviate lanes, bells/whistles go off if you get too close to something, mirrors have images that appear when a car comes up beside you...and on it goes. Even the steering wheel is air-conditioned. Hell, I assume in another year or so, Lexus will come out with a vehicle that drives itself. BTW, IM"H"O, I think the Lexus (350RX) is a POS compared to my Tacoma and my wife thinks the same thing about my SR5 compared to her ride.
