So you're saying it's time to pump the brakes on the drum brake conversation?

My car has rear discs and does not have that goofy style drum inside of rotor parking brake, so I'm sure Toyota can do the same.

No no no no.... it’s stab. You stab the brakes. Stabbing motion. Apply stabbing motion to the brake discussion.

The kind I think you are probably talking about has a pair of brake shoes that expand into the center of the disc which has a drum like center and is old tech. The way they work on my car is that when you pull the handbrake it mechanically squeezes the caliper closed on the rotor which is a pretty simple reliable setup.

Goddamn that sounds downright terrible, unamerican, and communist. But seriously I think the word on the street is nobody really wants this thread to focus on that. And the discussion isn’t really going anywhere. And Toyota’s engineers deduced that the rear braking power required is um well let’s say it’s 5. So they got drums that cover that. If they switch to disc because it’s 2017 and the iPhone x came out and we are a nation of progress (we went to the moon why can’t we have disc brakes) the discs are probably gonna be operating at a value of.... 5. Which is the value the Tacoma scientists determined works.

Rear discs cost less than my iPhone X that will be here Friday :D

At least truck has wireless charging, but no disc brakes :D
