What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Mine is at 15k+ and it def runs better than it did the first 12k. Was going to splurge on the OVTune but now just trying to pay it off before I hit 20k. Then I can evaluate if I really need the tune. But it really does run great. The only minor complaint is in D it still loves jumping up to 5th or 6th gear before I hit 45 mph. I just use ECT more frequently when driving under 45 mph. Once up to a cruising speed I cut ECT off.

 

You can do the oil changes early if you want, doesn't have to be at 5k.

 

Yeah that made the decision between lowpro or full bumper pretty easy. Not sure how I can convince the wife though....

 

Well I only put 7k on my first year which just happened in Oct. The oil change states (every 12 months OR 10k miles). If you only put 4 to 5k a year, you should get 2 oil changes and 2 rotations.

 

I painted my exhaist tip woth high temp brake caliper paint. Trying 2 do the little things while i save up for the big ones

You very well could be right on that. But I got an overall dimension on their knuckle as 20.25" by converting from millimeters. And when I measure overall the one on my truck it's about an inch and a half longer total but that could be because of the curvature of the Tuff country knuckle. They look pretty close. I guess if it doesn't look like it will work before we install then we will return them. Here is a picture of the two kits.

Been there done that. Gave me $23,345. for my pristine 2011 just a couple months ago. It's uni body so it's probably going bye bye. You probably wouldn't be happy with it anyway. Important thing is that everyone is ok. I look at your truck and I get that gut wrenching feeling all over again. Been 3 months and the bone cracker (chiropractor) still working on my neck.

This is based on there only being a problem with the sway bar mount/angle location on your current knuckles. If time was not an issue I would:
(A) remove one, take it to a machine shop, point out where the issue is with the sway bar and have it digitally measured with a cmm or laser, a corrected one drawn up with a 3d cad dwg and get quotes from local machine shops to make new ones OR
(B) see if they can machine yours, or add a spacer, correcting sway mounts/angles to correct the sway bar location causing your clearance issue.
Machinists are all about challenging geometry
If you have a new one made to the correct specs out of solid steel 4340 it will be better than the casted one you now have. Any reputable machine shop can duplicate and make mods to the one you have. Squareness and geometric dimensions are easily replicated with decent equipment.

Like many on here, bought and installed the Baja Designs Squadron Pro combo series amber fog lights....crazy bright!
I had LED fogs before.....the Baja Designs blow those away in a few other aspects.
One is....bright.
Two is way better definition of what’s in front of me...way better contrast.
Three is even though these are pointed somewhat down in front....it really illuminates any road signs....much further than low beams.
Four is I didn’t get one flash from another driver like my lights are on high etc.
Driving on a 2 lane road....these are a must have!
Never thought I would like amber colored lights......I do now!
I did install by pulling back the wheel well plastic covers to access the fog lights and that 1 screw that holds these lights on.
Easy!

I really like the squadron lights. Much better and so much more useful than Pro tails. Pretty sure I will add those soon. I have amber "lame" led fog bulbs now and the color looks great on my blue truck. How much were they total with the mounts. I guess the only easy install is peeling back the fender liners. Did you have to make any adjustments or do they mount with the correct light direction.

@honey has the manufacturer attempted to offer repairs for your issue. Seems like everyone with that kit on a Taco should have the same complaints IF they kept the sway bars. I would expect them to make changes to the design if it is a geometric flaw and, if so, they should entitle you a recall/new replacement for the flawed knuckles. Just seems like that would be in their best interest and show some customer compassion. Nothing irks me more than someone rushing a product to market and balking on design flaws. Talking about the knuckles not Toyota LOL.
