Rear AAL options

while trying to get an idea for upgrading my lift from the rough country one ive hit a speedbump on my decision for the rear, the front is decided I just cant decide on which add a leaf to go with. which would yall prefer?

Just get the summit 1, then hit that speedbump ur refering to.

 

what would I do without you man lol, I'm sensing sarcasm so the Go with the HS?

 

If you offroad get the headstrong one... if not, the skyjacker should be fine.
Also how much lift do you want in the rear 1.5 or 2” with the HS, and 2.5” with the Skyjacker.

 

light offroading nothing serious, I want 2 inch in the front which I get from the HS coils with 5100 and 2 in the rear, skyjacker and tuff country I believe is the name make one for just 2 inch

 

i had a deaver single long 1.5" aal and didnt realize what i was missing until i got the progressive aal.
Bucking bronco bs was gone, rear end is much more planted now. Nothing else was changed, same 5100s as before.

Notice the back end dance a little over bridge expansion joints?

Them expansion joints are no joke in corners

 

Hands down the 3-leaf progressive from HS. Single leaf AAL ride is terrible.

 

I notice that and plus going up to work every morning there is a small speed bump and sometimes ill hit it with some slight rolling speed maybe 10ish mph and it hops pretty good but even going slow the ass end feels like its hopping in the air.

A single aal will make that worse

 

I believe that, because now that I think about it I used to have a 99 Cherokee and it had the rough country 3 inch lift with new coils and AAL...I thought it just rode like shit because it was a jeep but I'm pretty 3 factors went in to play there jeep, rough country and AAL lol

 

FWIW, Id stick to a multi leaf add a leaf, itll generally ride better than a single leaf

 

I've got the Wheelers Offroad single on my DCLB along with 5100's and it rides better than factory.

 

I’ve got icon aal very pleased with it def recommend progressive

 

X2 biggest difference (in a good way) for me was switching to 5100s in the back.

This is 99.9% going to be my setup starting out the rear AAL may come a little while after the coils and the 5100 all around along with probably some light racing uca down the road.

 

If you insist on the AAL, get the multi-leaf. However, based on my (and MANY others on this site) experience, just spend the extra couple hundred dollars now for a set of Dakars or some other complete leaf pack. Your factory leafs WILL sag and then you'll need to replace them anyway.

 

that would be awesome, just for the time being and probably for a little while that isn't the budget friendly option

 

I feel ya, but I would seriously consider putting off the lift for a couple months if you have to so you can get what you really need.

Buy nice or cry twice.
