Lol sorry. As in fuel economy. That thing onky gets that good of mileage due to it basically being a car. Low to the group and sleek (slippery).

Hey guys, new to this thread. I am possibly moving to Worland in a few months. Can you give me an idea on where to start and what to know about north central wyoming in regards to doing both offroad stuff as well as just daily driving? I have a stock 2017 Sport. I will get some new tires when I go there, any recommendations? Cooper AT3, KO2, Nitrograpplers etc? I will be doing a fair amount of driving on the highway as well. I also plan on changing out the headlights, I was blown away by all the deer and antelope on the side of the road. What other functional modifications can I start with? Eventually I will change the suspension, I never really needed the TRD Offroad where I live now.

 

Quality lights are helpful but as long as your stock lights are still good you will be fine. You will just learn to be more mindful of your surroundings as you drive your normal routes and notice the places they like to cross and hang out.

Tires for a lot of highway and some off-roading, any good all terriain does fine.

 

I know a thing or two about good headlights. Just ask monte. Haha

 

Yeah, here are the "thing or two" you know: 1. You don't have "good headlights," you have two small suns. 2. You're never driving behind any of us again.

Problem is, your uncovered, no-flaps, 35's kick so much crap up behind you that no one wants to drive behind you either. hahahaha

Your head lights should be fine. Added aux lights couldn't hurt though.

An all terrain will be a good way to go. Worland doesn't get a ton of snow but the whole area gets hit a few times a year by a big snow storm. It'll always be a bit snowy and icy but not too bad in the basin area. It usually "warms" up enough and blows enough the snow keeps off the roads.

For offroading, your right by the Big horns! Which has tons of fun areas to check out. Honestly you don't need anything that hardcore to drive around there. Most the roads get bulldozed every few years save for a couple so they are usually always accessible by a truck with decent ground clearance, 4wd, and tires. Im from Powell btw. Welcome to the big horn basin! I live just a few hours north in MT now but visit Wy frequently.

 

Im going to mount an LED bar on the rear of my truck only when you wheel with me so that i can just turn it on and leave it on whenever you get behind me

 

Annnnddd might be looking at buying some snow tires. My commute took almost twice as long today with a snow storm going. Almost wish id left my ABS installed..

 

My commute today was...interesting. 5-10" or more snow on the county roads. Slick shit for 40 miles with snow coming down so hard could barely see. Thank go for my truck.

Devin could barely make it down the county road. Couldn't make it up the driveway. Even with snow tires. She doesn't have the ground clearance. Probably going to have to get something else..

First night in the new place. After ferrying up the stuff out of Devin car. Started two fires in the two wood stoves we have they work pretty damn good!

 

Wood stoves are awesome, especially when the space is properly insulated. Almost like having a campfire inside. If you use them regularly, it does mean having yo have a good supply of chopped wood nearby.

 

Land lord said we can cut up as much as we want just down the road. House already had a good supply in it. .

Its a small old house so it's not insulated well haha but one in the basement and one up stairs isn't bad.

 

But that comes with a chevy V8, no beating that haha

Devin was in love with it. It is a nice lil house. Just way too far away for me.

But i think she is realizing that its not going to work haha. Her car is useless there. Its also a lot colder than she thought haha.
