Sumo springs replacement bumpstops work well. I installed the ones that they spec for the Tundra on my Tacoma and they carry loads well. No plumbing and no worries about a bag blowing out.

The Wheelers Off Road 5-leaf pack is another option for more weight capacity that keeps you at stock height.

65 gallon tank against the front of the bed. I also have a skid with one of my welders, oxygen and acetylene bottles mounted to it that I carry in the bed of the truck carries it just fine. Sorry no pictures of that loaded. The stock 4600 Bilstein shocks fade out pretty bad if on rough roads ect.F2CF80B1-AD2F-45D2-AC6B-523EAC1D2D96.jpg

Thanks guys for all your great tips and info. I decided to give the Sumo Springs a try. I installed last weekend. I have a 60 gallon water tank but I do not fill it up to full. I put 40 gallons of water today and drove it on the freeway I noticed my steering wheel was shaking a lot at about 55 mph. My truck is still new with only 732 miles. After I used up the water there was probably only 5 gallons left in the tank, drove back home on the freeway and no steering wheel shake. Have you guys experience this before? Is this normal?

I noticed with all the weight at back of my truck my Sumo Springs is leaning forward. Is it suppose to do that?

That’s good- with the sumosprings leaning forward, have you noticed the bed getting out of alignment to the cab at all?

Yes my bed is not aligned. If you look at the 4th picture I posted you see that the bed is flushed with the cabin. On the passenger side it doesn't look like that. I noticed it several weeks ago but never bothered taking it back to the dealer. Because it doesn't really bother me. But if that's what causing my SumoSprings to lean then maybe I should have it fixed. Do you think that's what's causing the vibration on my steering wheel as well?

I was wondering if something is moving back there due to load weight during stops and turns too, but not sure if thats your main problem. Not to make you spend more money- but did anyone mention putting in an add a leaf or leaf pack on the rear? It’s supposed to increase your weight capacity. I’m not sure why the sumosprings are doing that- unless there is axle wrap or something like that happening and the sumosprings are getting out of alignment??

Someone did mention about adding a leaf pack, I may have to go that route. Thanks.

The vibration is your drive line angle I bet. The lean is most likely from the u bolts not being centered correctly. Loosen the u bolts up re center them and torque them back in 3-4 even steps in a crisscrossed pattern. You should end up with approximately the same amount of threads below the nut on all 8 ends of the u bolts

You can calculate wt for 60 gal. Water weighs 8.345 ppg so you are hauling 501lbs in water alone.

Has anyone ever considered Hellwig helper springs?

If you do go the heavy duty spring route DON’T get all-pro off road’s “expedition” rear leaf pack... they are a joke when it comes to carrying any sort of load. I would NOT recommend them to anyone. Here is the load I carry every day:

Here is a picture 15 minutes after I got them installed:

They are at a negative arch and provided me 1-1.5 inches of lift over stock. I’m sitting at 22.5” on the drivers side and 23” passenger. With an empty tank and empty jerry cans, but all-pro told me that’s normal. I replaced my Dakar leaf pack with these and ended up lowering my truck. Learned my lesson so hopefully someone else can learn from my $500+ mistake!
