Kijiji find from Stoney Creek...Gently used Hakka's on 2004 FJ Cruiser rims. I passed up on the deal as I decided to go new and already had the rims on hand.

So after much discussion, we have decided to set the front bilsteins on the 2" lift setting, 2nd from the top. Trying not to go over 3" of lift on the front.

As the 885 coils are going to be giving much more action than the stock coils, since I do not have a plate bumper yet. With a plate bumper I imagine the 2.5" setting would be correct.

 

With 885's you need the bilsteins set at 0 for 2-2.5" lift

So at the setting we are planning, you are saying im looking at 3" - 3.5" lift?

So we had planned on the 2 inch ring. You are saying I should be at the 1 inch ring for what I want to achieve?

I dont see how the 0 setting will give over 2 inch of lift, just the coils doing it all really?

 

I'm on the lowest setting with 885's sitting at 21 3/4 from center of hub to bottom of fender. Full skids, group 31 battery and sliders. I can't really comment on an AC vs DC size

And the confusion. They call it 1st notch. Bilstein says 0 lift ring, or 1 inch lift ring? WTF is 1st notch?

 

I would imagine the 1st notch is the 0 lift ring.

 

@llamasmurf this is stock setting on 5100's with 886 springs

 

Steel bumper? Can you please measure center of hub to bottom of fender?

 

I want to take a ride in your truck to see how the billies compare to the OME. I feel billies would be cheaper and easier accessible compared to OME. Plus I also think they would ride better. Just never heard of them with the 886's.

 

ya bumper is steel, im at alicias dads house so i don't have a tape measure, but as soon as i do i will measure

 

its not a bad ride, some people get a little worried about having springs that heavy on the 5100's but with the bumper and the winch, the 885's wouldn't have worked. and with the amount of wieght, i have in the front its actually pretty smooth.

 

nice. I know the OME are 'valved" for that coil, but apparently they are for so many weighted coils so who knows.

 

you can go online and read some horror stories about my setup, but the hell with it, it breaks ill just buy fox's
