Browns Toyota in Glen Burnie? They seemed very nice each time I have made them prospective dealers for my purchases.

I hate picking dealers for service. I am going this Saturday for the first (5k mile) service. I am not a fan of where I bought the truck out in Catonsville, so I am going to try Jones Junction again. They are not touching my Copper Ray 10s though. No one is. And I never let a dealer do the "free" wash. I have seen them drop the rags on the ground before. They also use a rag tapped to a broom handle to dry off the top. Nice. Screw that. If I had the time I swear I would do all my own services.

I don't blame you on the wheels. And yes, I believe it's Brown's Toyota. Also, it doesn't surprise me one but about the wash thing, I've seen brand new cars on the lots of some dealers, already full of small scratches and swirls from them not washing the cars properly.

Yea, my dash gauge plastic came with minor swirls. I didn't see it until a couple weeks later so no chance for recourse.

2x. Same here. Didn't notice it was actually swirled until I went to clean it myself. :(

Damn. That sucks. I just wish someone would have told past me that if you wash and claybar a vehicle the right way, it looks fucking amazing when your done. Now I've got so many pinstripes, rust spots, and scratches that while it looks 100% better done the right way, I don't think it will ever really look decent without a partial respray on some parts.

Well, look at who's prepping them for us......they certainly have no stake in the matter.

Oh God. You've obviously have never seen me run a buffer.

Long story, short: I should stick to turning wrenches.

Who installed your tires and continues to balance them for you?

If I had access to both machines, I’d do the work myself as well. I miss the car shop days...

EBay. Those tire machines are getting cheap, they are usually less than the cost of a lift

ATO Motosports (Rte 40, White Marsh) did the install and they were superb. Excellent work. I thought about going back just for rotations. I have a 3 ton floor jack and a 12 ton bottle jack, and a bunch of jack stands. I also have a compressor and air tools. If I made a little extra room I could do it in my garage but my driveway is flat enough to do it outside and the cold doesn't bother me. I expect the rotation to take me 2 hours or less from start to finish taking my time, and making sure everything is torqued to specs. If I rushed it, less than an hour but again, with these wheels I would rather take my time.

Thanks for telling me the place. I figured with copper brushed wheels, you would HAVE to trust the shop.

It used to make me cringe seeing the techs use the machines with the wrong adapters and scratch the wheels up.

One thing as well, Amazon sells these sockets, they will be nice to have since they won't mar the lug nut wells.

Yea, the guy that did the actual install was all business. It was during the heat wave too. I still want to go back and take him a case of beer or some cash. Not a single scratch, on the wheels or the caps.

I tell ya another place to check out in the same general area. No Limit on Bel Air road, inside the beltway. They are now doing most of the custom tire installs for all the dealers int he area, and are full service. They do a lot of local celebs too. Sports figures, etc. That's who did the wheels and tires on my Tundra. Excellent work there too.

I have all Gorilla spline lugs and Gorilla locks. Bought all splines but then added the locks later because I park downtown in a garage for work.but I plan on putting either electrical tape or duct tape around the keys. And I use a 3" extension to keep the wrench away. But thanks for the great idea/link!

A little late. As it turns out, all my local dealers flat out told me they won't touch anything Bowie has worked on, too many expensive messes from them. So I've got another appointment wiith Bowie, I'm fully expecting them to blame the trailer plug I replaced and refuse to actually fix the problem.
