I know. I was surprised too knowing its history. Original owner had a concrete company and second owner was a teenage boy. The body was pretty ugly but it had good bones. Been in Colorado most of its life from what I understand.

I mostly used this stuff in semi-gloss. It's really durable. There were spots where I couldn't even burn the paint off lol. You can find it at Advanced Auto.

I know My blue truck is from salt lake so it needs some attention.

We did it without a lift. Beds a little lighter with fiberglass but we just picked it up with two people

Added a RAM mount (and USB and CAT6 for the ham radio) to the A-pillar. F-ing hate the oh-shit handles on those things b/c of the screws they used to attach them in 97-00's

Had to google what the mount was for, glad I did cuz now I want one.

 

I think in '01, they started putting a hex head on it, so you could use a 10mm socket to get it out.

I wonder if different "assemblers" did things differently. I noticed a ton of loctite on entire shaft of the screws when I finally got them out. Perhaps the guy who put together my truck was like, "this thing is for safety, it's never going to come lose!"
Well, I showed him. I got that damn thing removed damn near in 90 minutes. Err, wait.

How did you get inside the corner pods?

 

It's a 20 year old truck with 230k for 6k lol. Even for Tacoma standards, that's fucking high.
