Thanks for referring to this post. I asked what the OP's truck was without reading back :crapstorm:

Would this sticker exist if the update came from the factory? I don't know if mine has it or not. Never knew to check. I'll pop the hood and check later.

I don't really know? At between about 3/4 throttle and WOT, it just feels like it is bogging more to get between about 2,000 to 3,500 or so RPM. It feels like it would make it through that band faster not at WOT or I'm just sitting there thinking that I should have just downshifted.

With our turbo cars, I never thought about downshifting as I knew the torque was going to build soon. As it stands, the Taco is feeling more flat-footed in that area of the map.

With this thread confirmed that the update only applies to the automatics, I'll just save up for the tune while hoping that something might develop before the next service.

That could be the Atkinson Cycle kicking in or out. MT has it. I just don't know how it works with the manual shifting.

Will be taking my 17 Off-Road Auto in for an oil change soon. My build date is 4/1/17 so this should be interesting.
I’ll report back once I do unless someone beats me.

if i understand you correctly, i could probably describe a similar thing in my MT and i'm on OV Tune 1.02C. if i drop to roughly half throttle approaching 3-3.5krpm there is a bit of a power lull there, not extreme. i just know now by muscle memory to add a little more throttle there coming into VVT at around 4k, which is exactly where i lay off the throttle and shift. not sure what to expect but i'm hoping to see this evened out a bit with the next OV MT tune version 1.03 MT dropping this weekend.

I don't think so. I believe that I can hear the Atkinson / VVTi working in and out. The exhaust seems to gets a more throathy sound under certain loads. My guess is that the cam timing is changing and doing it thing when I heard that deeper exhaust note.

My hole in throttle is happening after I hear that exhaust change.

A bit different. I'm justgoing deep in the throttle about 1.5k and not changing my foot position. This would be at a place where I normally want to accelerate but not shift. The hole in the map between 2,000 and 3,500 RPM just feels bigger that it used to. It was livable before but feels irritating now.

But yeah. Once it really starts to breathe at 4k, I am already thinking about lifting or it hits harder than it needs to.

It feels different than it used to, which is what has me wondering.

My truck was made in Sept 2015 and was on the list for the first update...... I got it last yr some time. It really improved the CC's slow response to shift back up after a hill ......Mine was so bad that after topping a hill it would stay in 4th going down the other side.... I'd have to "blip" the pedal to get it to shift back up, sometimes.....:confused:

Yesterday, I asked them to do the second "update", as it was still a little "wonky" in CC.... They did it....no questions asked AFTER I said that it still is slow to upshift... (You must state you have 1 or more of the reasons in the TSB)..!! :):)

The first Sticker under the hood had a real Looooong number on it that ended in "200"...... Now I have a 2nd sticker with the last digits "300"..!! That's what you want to see on an early 2015 made 3rd gen.

The '17's likely had the first TSB applied at factory and NO sticker.... That's MY guess....!

    Good luck guys.

After reading this post, I called my dealer to ask about a new update. The tech confirmed that there is a new version of the ECU flash as well as a TCM update. I have an appointment for service on Saturday and will post the details when finished.

I had rev 2 of TSB 0077-16 in the early part of 2017. This one is newer and my truck hasn’t had it according to dealer records.

I was in for service last month. I got excited when the dealership told me there was an update avaible for me.
Unfortunately when they went to do the update they found that my truck already had it.
My truck had whatever it came with from factory so pretty much nothing new since last year.

How is everyone getting all this done? When I bring it up to my dealer they just say they have to have a tech bring it out and be able to replicate the issue. And that you can't just apply a TSB cause you know there is one out there.
