What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Hit 3k last night. Have had the truck for almost 2 months. Lol it's crazy to me how oil change is at 10k. I'm used to 3-5k.

 

Are you a 4 cyl?

 

6 cyl

 

Most 6 cylinders are every 5k

 

Interesting. I'll have to ask the dealer if they can change the oil when I take it in for the 5k. Debating doing everything myself but might as well wait. Lol

 

Swapped out my stock springs and AAL for an All-Pro leaf pack. Also did u-bolt flip with the active off-road timbrens; mounted upside down from the top to help keep out snow/ice/mud/etc... (idea borrowed from someone else on TW, I just don't remember who or where I'd seen it now).

 

Got a 'paint' job of sorts...(thanks to Hurricane Harvey).

Got the orange pumpkin sprayed with Linex...$695 later.
And that's the 'new' truck...not a paint job. ; )

Originally from Virginia....got as fast as I could to Texas though...when I was 5 yrs old. Spent some time in Florida...work...NASA at the Cape...and surfing.

Got a Smittybuilt receiver hitch D-Ring off Amazon for $33. Just in case I need to pull someone out or more likely when someone bumps into me. Took extra pics of my cheap accessory because I was curious how far it stuck out before I bought it.

Service is every 5k but oil changes are only at every 10k for 3rd gens.

is it necessary? i want some feedback. i am just use to changing my oil every 5k, but i drive my truck pretty hard, putting about 300-500 miles a day on it.

 

is changing you oil every 3k bad for 3rd gen?
