So I just ordered a set of SCS F5's as well as a set of Wildpeaks to wrap them in. I want to keep the tire pressure monitoring sensors but getting them out of the old wheels I'm sure will cost me extra money at the tire shop.

So how much are new sensors, do I have to take the new sensors to the stealership to get them synced to the truck?

For those that have reused the same sensors from your previous wheels, did you rely on the shop to pull them out of the old wheels and put them in the new ones?

Can I just deflate the old tires myself and get the sensors out and then reinflate them? Is this something I can do?

    Too few to list.
It will cost you more to buy sensors than simply taking them off your old wheels. Since you're asking if you can get them out yourself, I am guessing you've never taken a tire on/off a wheel before. I suggest you just take them to a tire shop and have everything installed. I just got this same exact wheels and had my tires mounted along with the sensors removed and mounted to the new wheels for $80 at discount tires. I'm sure it can be had for less elsewhere though.

You will need "TPMS rebuild kits". They don't really rebuild anything. It's just a new rubber grommet, washer, nut, valve core and cap. In the past, I have bought these kits from the tire shop at the same time I had them switch tires. Recently, I bought a whole bunch of Dill brand kits from https://yourtireshopsupply.com/
There are a lot of these kits made in China. Even some of the Dill kits on ebay say made in China. I really hate China crap on my rigs. The ones I just bought from https://yourtireshopsupply.com/ are made in USA. You can look them up by application on their site.

So funny story. I’ve changed my own tires once. It was when I was still road racing back in the day on my 600RR. Just the pain and busted knuckles from that one experience motivated me to never ever do that again. Well looks like I’ll just bite the bullet and get the shop to do it all.

Or you do the TPMS disconnect and never have to worry about it again...

Yeah but disabling safety devices that can be actually helpful seems counter-intuitive... at least to me but to each their own.

2 out of the 3 tire shops I've been to did not ask for additional money to swap the sensors over.

I've had TPMS from the factory steel wheels swapped over to SCS wheels. I've also had them swapped from the factory TRD OR rims over to SCS wheels. No one had any issues with any swap. Nothing had to be taken back to the dealer or re-calibrated.

When I first got my rig, which up to this point is the most advanced vehicle I have ever owned, I had no idea they had sensors, even after having tires and wheels changed at the tire factory I still didnt realize it until the light lit up one time, I took it back to the tire factory is when they enlightened me... turned out it was the spare that was low... who would have thunk?? I'm getting better... I'm learning... ;)

but they didnt charge any extra to change them out or it would have been on the receipt.

The dash thing really was easy. Took me maybe an hour to accomplish it and it was very satisfying not to look at that TPMS light anymore.

Don't have the F5's, but with my Stealth 6's they had to mount them upside down or something because they didn't fit the original way, work fine though, just always have to notify the technician. They didn't charge me at all to do that, just for new wheel install which was $45

I believe you could have them install sensors when you're buying your new wheel and tires. Then you'd just have to get them programmed by a tire shop or dealer.

$20 per tire is average mount/balance, maybe even high by a buck or two. Everyone should walk out of whatever shop and find a new one if it's more than that. It's like 40min/$9 in grease-monkey work, $70-$80 is easy money for a shop.
