Sign up for AAA premium package. Like $100 for up to 100 miles I think. Got me out of a jam in my pos Silverado many times

Sam, depending on where the line is broken, you might be able to field replace it. A lot of auto shops sell hard line sections with fittings on them that you can carefully bend into shape.

My wife did this for me before going to Moab, UT 2 weeks ago. Would have gotten me to M40 in Moab or SLC....

I’m a long walk from any place that might have that. I just bit the bullet and am having it towed to the house. $350 isn’t that much money, right? @NorthwestCruiser offered to tow me, but it would be pretty late and really inconvenient for everyone so I passed. Thanks everyone for the suggestions

Break it off the rest of the way, fold it over on itself crimp the shit out of it however you can, and drive home with 3 brakes.

Sorry to hear! If it hadnt been so far I would have came and helped out. Should be able to get a replacement from toyota (or the generic pre-made length from an auto parts store). If not or its a funky length let me know and I can come by and we can make one up. Ive got everything needed for making up brake lines.

PS..in the event of a leaking hardline and very temporary fix you can do is to undo the line and "pinch" it before the leak (ie closer to the master cylinder). Dont crimp it with pliers (crimp it to hard and youll just put another hole in the bend in my experience) or anything but bending it tight will stop a leak for a bit. Then you can hobble a short distance. Just try not to use the brakes (ie use the transmission and coasting to slow down). I would NOT get going fast though and like i said only for a short distance.

Good idea, but all the fluid is gone. I should have spare I know, but don’t and have tons of air in the lines even if I did

Yeah I was about 11 miles up a FS road when I lost pressure and used a combo of 1-2 gear and the e brake to get me down to cell service. Good to know for the future tho. I’ll try to score a brake line this weekend and swap it out. Thanks again for the help everyone

Btw I had to replace my weeping front caliper line, was only $12 from toyota, But it's only 6" long. Not sure where yours is leaking but it should be pretty obvious if you lost all your fluid.

Way you drive, I’m surprised it wasn’t full out crying in hysterics, much less weeping.
