That's good stuff right there buddy. So does that change your recommendation on headlight mods?

Actually, if @Dmking8 has a third gen, it already has projectors. @Tynan and I both installed HID's...straight plug and play in ours.

    3'rd gen Taco's are here:

You technically could pull your stock projectors and swap them out.

Just not sure how far you would be willing to go.

I know @riz_atx upgraded his system and could probably help me out here

So with stock projectors on da third gen, HID is better than LED. This is mostly due to light bleed and cut off. HIDs will project further, be brighter, have less scatter, and work quite well.

For fogs, doesn’t matter. LED work fine since the throw distance is short. I wouldnt replace the bulb as much as I would get replacement pods with a solid cut off.

If you're looking for brighter headlights - HID is the way to go. LED is a minimal upgrade (mainly a color change to non-yellow bulbs). The reviews I'd read said that its not a very noticible improvement in light output. HIDs, though, are stupid-bright. Like, "please make sure your headlights are properly adjusted afterwards or you'll get bright lighted by every oncoming car on the highway if not" level of bright. :( . Might have made that mistake of having them a litttttle too high.

The downside - HID's take 5-10 seconds to 'warm up', and you don't want to turn the lights on/off rapidly, or you'll blow the ballasts. The 3rd gen tacoma doesn't turn off the lowbeams when you put on the highs, so you're good there.

Much coffee must be made (and imbibed) in our absence. @exportexp will be down to one Wok to rule them all this next one.

This is very helpful. I appreciate all the advice. I assume it's not really necessary to replace the high-beams then if the low-beams are still on. Any suggestions for LED fog light bulbs?
