At this point, I am being told there are no 2018 cement Tacomas within 500 miles of Phoenix. I hope they start producing them with the next allocation.

Invoice is a fake number. For the past 15 years invoice means nothing more than a made up number that the manufacturers and the dealers know we want to see, MSRP has inflated to an astronomical number that will crash in the near future, like the housing market did. Dealer cost is nowhere near the invoice price. We cannot see what the dealer actually pays for a vehicle, but that holdback which is for Toyota, 2% of MSRP, not invoice you should negotiate. That’s an additional $800 on a $40k truck that you are leaving on the table. 80% of car buyers show up at the lot and buy something from the lot. The other 20% let the 80% pay their holdback.

Yep, be patient. 6 months from now, you will regret not waiting for what you want

Carbon black tailgate Tacoma insert. Red Tacoma dash insert. Winco Infrared reducing window tint. Predator steps.
Truecar shows an avg. Price of 2.5% over retail for trd pro models. I don't find anywhere on any site that substantiates your $1400 below invoice

I also call BS on the trd pro prices. $41K would be the MT pro price MSRP national model, possibly higher for SET/GST etc with their higher packages. None of those dealers are going to budge nearly $3K off.

Those images and figures are from cargurus.com. TrueCar is in bed with the manufacturers and dealers now. They no longer show true dealer cost, and therefore no longer offer real discount or savings. They used to get you a low price, now they offer you a “good” price from dealers, yet somebody got a “great”price. But you can’t have that if you use TrueCar. Your best bet is to negotiate yourself. Somebody somewhere got those prices, so if you call bs, then so be it. I would at least try and negotiate from a number below that before settling on MSRP even for a PRO. All they can say is no. And you can always walk away. It’s a vehicle, don’t let emotions get in the way of money.

Every time I've used truecar, the dealer still asks me for the specs that I want and says truecar doesn't give them to them.

So if I'm paying $32,500 for my 2018 Off Road, plus fees and accessories that's probably not terrible? The tssp adds cost from the 17s. It's the damn fees that are outrageous to me. By the time fees and taxes are in it's 5 k more.

My dealer told me a few days ago that the "Premium Package" on my DCSB TRD Sport 6MT was showing a dealer price of $1,707. He figured that it would equate to about $2k once they released the options pricing. I'm not sure if this is accurate or not since he said the pricing fell of the order a day later.

This has been discussed quite a lot in this thread and multiple others. "Invoice" is about as relative a price as "MSRP". Neither number are the cost to the dealership. The dealership won't know until the sales quarter and eventually sales year are over. There are too many programs and incentives.

The best way to evaluate your deal is to extensively shop around, look at comparable sales, and pay what it's worth to you. Think about it like buying a house. There's the cost to build it and then there's the appraised tax value. The seller can sell for whatever they want and you buy based on something called "perceived value". Basically, what's it worth to YOU.

Then go buy somewhere else. That's the great thing about the internet. You can take a written quote, email to a million dealerships and buy it somewhere else. I flew from Seattle to Austin and drove back to save $4,000 in fees.

I did find one that fit the bill perfectly in Colorado aside from being Silver Sky Metallic.

Not quite ready yet though and I should probably test drive one here to see what I think of it before driving clear across Nebraska to buy one.

I'm in AZ too. What dealership told you that? There's at least 50 DCSB's allocated for this area. My buddy is a fleet manager at a dealership here and I've seen the list. There just aren't any Cement DCLB's yet, which I have an "order" in for.

I put down my deposit today for my DCLBOR4x4. MSRP was about $41,500 with the tech package, JBL, power tailgate lock and LED bed lights, including taxes.
Final amount yet to be determined, but they're gonna meet the Costco numbers which usually come in 8-10% under retail.
For what it's worth, the prices were actually in their system for ordering, so I think I waited for the right time to pull the trigger.
Naturally, the configuration I want likely won't be first off the assembly line. Hopefully in a couple of months.
    Gimme my retirement toy!

Hey that is almost exactly same as my 18 as far as same equipment . Only other thing Mine has is the blackout added. Mine is due 1st week of dec. Msrp was 41690. Best I could get down too was 39610. Then whatever tax and tag will be. I am sure others will do better but I'm ok with it. And short bed
