So I have seen a couple videos on how to remove the chrome ring on the 2017 grill, and I seem to be having a huge issue in getting the ring off. Some please explain the be the process I have removed grills before on other vehicles but it seems that this one is getting the better of me.

Hopefully you've taken the whole grill off first. Then, the ring is just clipped in with little tabs that will break if you look at them funny. You carefully pull the ring off as you one-by-one ease the tabs (clips) back. The ring won't pop out until you'll done them all. Also, there are like 4 screws around the perimeter if I recall. I'm going off memory from a year ago - and I drink a lot .

The whole grill I know to take off but and I have already broken some of the little pieces on the tabs (nothing that effected anything) but it just seems that I have the one truck where the ring just does not want to cooperate.

There's like 4 little Phillips screws too. The tabs need to be gently pry'd back while you're easing the ring off. If you bought a Pro Grill, you won't use the chrome ring.

Finesse is the operative word here.

Yeah a Pro Grill would be nice but the $400 price tag to me is not worth it.

I took mine off not long ago, added a BAMF grille, those little tabs are a ass pain, you will get a sore thumb in the process, keep trying to squeeze them through/out, not easy, but they do eventually come out, I also broke one
Look on the BAMF grille install thread, it helps with getting that off

I just did this and wanted to update some stuff for the 2018 guys.

1- There are two plastic tabs and two screws (10mm socket) on the top and 4 plastic tabs (use flat head) on the bottom of the grille to undo. The bottom ones are under some plastic thing sort of hiding. A head lamp makes this whole thing much easier.
2- You have to unhook the sensor wiring. This is upside and hard to see, so what I did was disconnect where the wire hangs from the grille in the two closest places with needle nose pliers and a little push, this allowed me to flip it upside down and disconnect it. It was still a PIA upside down, but much easier.
3- When removing the chrome piece, there are 6-8 screws to remove, look at your new one and see how many holes there are.
4- There are black and there are chrome pieces to push through, ignore the black, you only need to push the chrome through. Again, use needle nose pliers from the back and after getting a few start to pull it little by little off as you move around.

Took me 30 minutes, 10 minutes was messing with the grille censor clips. I know it's not the TRD, but way better with a black ring than the chrome.
