Wouldn’t a V8 option be nice?

I had the 22re which made like 105hp? It was painfully slow, but so bulletproof.... I am utterly impressed with my 2.7. With ect on it almost feels like it is turbocharged. I will say it would be cool to have a diesel option that was super reliable.

There have been a tidal wave of members dropping the 3.5L Tacoma and getting into ...anything else.

This recent article rolls a lot of information into one place on this subject, fwiw.

Sorry to thread jack, but since imo a V8 in a Tacoma is "fantasy" thought I would introduce something more plausible.

It is now practical to refuel electric vehicles through thin air

WiTricity, a firm in Massachusetts that designs both (induction) pickups and pads, has licensed its design to Toyota....

Other carmakers, including Audi, BMW, Daimler, Ford, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, are likewise expected to launch remote-charging-ready vehicles soon.

I paid 32k for my SR5. You can now get a 4x4 F250 Super Duty work truck brand new for that price. I still prefer the size of the Taco, but that price is hard to beat.

I’m happy with the 3.5 V6. Perhaps the manual transmission has a lot to do with that.
What I would like even more is a V6 turbo option.
Especially since all my driving is done at 5000 ft and above elevation.

Is the MT quicker than the AT? I have read on here the MT has a higher ratio?

OVTuning is exploring a turbo option right now, just mentioned it in his thread.

Doesn't the MT take a hit on mpg too?

It is an exaggeration but not from Harry.

You can build a pretty decent one and still be Tacoma price range.

I don't know, I know I average high 21mpg's to mid 22mpg's here in SW NH. Not trying to take a dig at the AT just asking........ for a friend

In my researching I thought they sad the manual didn't quite the mileage the automatic did.
