If its not too much work, I'd love to know what they charged you. I was quoted $1,300 this morning over the phone. PLus parts of course, which is likely $1,100 on the GB, waiting to hear on the backorder there...

So I just got my truck back after dropping it off Monday afternoon. Total time in the shop was slightly under 2.5 days. Can’t really say how many hours spent specifically on my truck, but his original estimate was 2 days total.

Oh and drives like a charm now!

I’m also interested in what they charged. I’ve heard their name tossed around more than a few times and am looking at getting the 4.88’s, I’m down in Santa Cruz but frequent San Jose so having a reputable local shop sounds promising

Yes please - invoice to do the work at rear end specialists? My truck is brand new, wonder if I need a whole Master Install kit, or not.

    Sorry!

A lot of people say you don’t. I ordered it before reading so mine got all new bearings. If you can skip it it definitely saves cash.

I can’t find my invoice but I found his original email quote. It’s slightly less than yours. I’m not going to say exactly because that’s not fair to them to have someone go in and say hey some dude on the internet got it cheaper.

It for sure was more than 1000 though. Almost half that If you brought the diffs in.

$230 just to get it to read properly? I might have to pass on that

Why they do good work and have warranty for everything they do... Plus I have buddies that work there.

Even that's somewhat debatable - twice in the past I've gotten the "We have them in stock ready to ship", only to wait a week or so to find out that they were actually back ordered with no ETA.

No they don't. I wouldn't trust them to rotate my tires let alone regear my diff. But hey it's your truck to ruin. Go for it.

Well, do you have any suggestions?? Or would you just like to throw people under the bus without reasoning?

He doesn’t live in the same state as you. Who cares?

Unless he’s gone to your exact four wheel parts, his opinion is just that.

If you think they do good work, use them. They have a warranty right?

If not you’ll have to ship them somewhere.

Does anyone have a link where to buy the gears from or is it just the Nitro website? Is there anywhere else? And if I want to do the REM or Cryo'd process, do you have to send them in? or does a shop already have them and can buy them like that?

    Stock....ish
I bought mine through low range off road. I don't belive they do the REM process but I know if you call SDHQ they'll do it for you. And it's nitro not G2 they don't make gears for our model specifically

I just talked to this guy from my shop and he said they are G2 gears and they are better than nitro?

    .............

People have said it to you quite a few times, but the information in these links will allow you to find out for yourself...

It is likely you have the new 8.75" gears and the only available ratio is 4.88 from nitro or Yukon.

The guys at your shop and 4 wheel parts clearly dont know shit about 2016 Tacoma's
