The block makes a clicking noise when turned on. I do not know the issue of it. But both heads are in working condition. I replaced the motor to my truck and selling this one.
What you see in the picture is what you get.

Motor came out of a 2008 Tacoma 4x4 with 92k miles.

    $850

    Located DFW area (75061)

Is EVERYTHING really the same from 05-11? I know for sure the head gasket was updated in 06. ECU and some wiring may have changed too so I guess it would be helpful if you stated what model year (and also mileage).

Why did you replace that motor? Care to try and elaborate on the clicking noise? How long as it been sitting outside and uncovered? Put some painters tape over all the intake, exhaust, and other egresses into the engine will keep all the bugs, dust and crap out of it.

That's what I thought. Do you know what is different? Wonder if it's actually engine related or just body controls...

Don’t remember exactly but someone wanted a turbo on their 09+ and his solution was to use an older ECU on his truck, if I remember it worked out with some trial and error. But now there’s a tuning option for the 09+ ecu (ovltune or something).

Replaced the motor because of a like clicking noise not necessarily one but it is more noticeable as you accelerate. Kind of like if your running with bad plugs sound of it. Best way to explain it. Don't worry all holes are covered. They are just uncovered for the pictures.

At $850,your are paying for a rebuildable block,if it ran perfect with no problems it for sure would be a LOT more than the ops asking price, just saying.

Also emissions changed in '12 but i think the block/heads are pretty much the same.

A good running motor will run you ~$1600. I guess you can say it will be the same at the end if decide to have the block rebuild.
