Overall I loved it down there. Ya I was down in are 2+ times a month.

 

Why would you want a Rav4? I thought you wanted a trail rig

 

I like going down there. I forgot the name of the park, but a few years back, before kids, we went white water rafting at a place that my sister in law's cousin worked at, as a guide. Had a blast!

Shiet... can't remember the name to be honest... maybe?! I know that we had to drive through the town that Randy Moss was from... shitty little place. WOW.

 

Assuming LOTS of stop & crawl traffic... Take the automatic trans. but the truck is tall & it's nice to be able to see in a traffic jam. If the truck is an automatic - no brainer. Take the better tires, unless they're both good. I can push this either way - LOL. Truck.

Both sets of tires are good. My all seasons are fairly new, only went on in May. Taking the truck most likely.

 

Yup exactly! Always sort of wanted a mid late 90's rav4 to wheel. Cut/flare out the fenders, shove some bigger tires on, maybe a homemade snorkel.

 

the ones that had a manual transmission had a manual center locking diff

but sadly the automatic trans only had the auto-locking center diff

I can tell you where there's a '99 5 speed (with the locking diff) for cheap down in Southern ME. Has a bad clutch and some body rust (minor). The GF traded it in on her '04 this summer and last I knew the mechanic just had it sitting in his yard. Thing was a tank in the snow, but it wasn't worth (to her) replacing the clutch because it had 200K and was 18 years old.

I spraygunned everything I could underneath including using the wand for the box section. I touched up and did the doors / fender lips / fender bottoms / rockers and tailgate with the aerosol.

I didn't pull the plugs on the rockers yet this year, just did the vents. I pulled the covers last year and saturated so I think that's still in there.

I put the snows on as well. I'm getting closer and closer to having enough $$$ put away to do the BFG / TRD faux-beadlocks. Then I'll probably swap my snows to the 3G wheels and sell the 3G tires and 2G wheels separately. I could probably make more selling the 3G wheels but for now I think I'd want those for winter. That is unless I track down a set of FJ steel wheels and run those in the winter. I have a wheel and tire problem.
