Regardless of how you end up at the final price, you can get a frontier for around 5k less than a tacoma all day long.

When i bought my frontier sticker price was 25800.00 I bought the truck for 17800 out the door.

My tacoma sticker was 26100, i purchased it for 22xxx, out the door.

Both trucks brand new, the frontier was an 08, my tacoma is an 09.

Unless something changed for 2010, the 08-09's run regular 87 octane, but they run ALOT better with 93.

Its a good truck, but its a different truck. It just depends on what you like.

i can't speak to you comparing prices back in 08/09 - todays pricing - dealer cost is within $1K for comparable vehicles.

Todays price there is a 4500 dollar difference right off the bat, with the difference in msrp and rebates.

MSRP for Pro4x is 29k and MSRP for a TRD offroad is 31k.

TRUE dealer cost doesn't mean shit...what matters is what you can buy it for, and you can buy a frontier alot cheaper than a tacoma. Doesn't matter if it was last year, this year or next year....it won't change.

The invoice price doesn't mean squat, its not what they paid for the vehicle, i don't care what they tell you.

I would have to agree on that. All the big rigs have c-channel.

    Not true.

MSRP on COMPRABLE TRUCKS (you conveniently left off the K04 package off the Nissan) puts the Nissan at $32k. Basically the same price.

Regarding rebates - they change constantly by date and by region - that is the true wildcard. Last time I checked, I could get $1K off a Tacoma where I live, and $2K off a Nissan.

Sorry, but for the most part, IF you know what you're doing, invoice price is everything. I only pay a few hundred over invoice (less incentives) on every car I buy. I've been around the business for 30 years now. My best friend owns a Nissan dealership (plus about 6 others) - (not Toyota unfortunately). I know the business inside and out.

I left off K04, because it adds options that are not available on the tacoma....Leather, power seats, and it adds the upgraded rockford audio, bluetooth (i did not add the JBL to the tacoma, and i don't see an option for it, it may not be available anymore.) So the K04 options package would not be relevant if we were comparing trucks with the most comparable options. To get MSRPs, i choose the base pro4x and the base TRD as anyone should.

If you've been around the business you'd know this i hope....but this does seem like typical salesman techniques.
