Good thing it didn't fail during a fire! If you want to check your fire extinguisher click here :https://inmarmarketaction.com/kidde/Kidde284US/

Thank you for your submission. Your product is affected and as a result Kidde will be sending you a replacement unit. It should arrive within 15-20 business days. Please retain your existing fire extinguisher unit until your replacement has been received. Upon receipt of your new fire extinguisher you will find instructions on what to do with your affected fire extinguisher.

I may not get very far with it today. Hoping to get the rear done for sure.
It took a 48" cheater bar to loosen the rear shock bolts yesterday. I was prepping for a 11:30 delivery that didn't happen...
And while I have been religiously soaking all nuts and bolts with a mix of ATF and acetone,
I missed the long bolt for the UCA. That may be the big holdup, and removing the upper ball joint of course.

So Spicy's post reminded me to actually go look my fire extinguisher up. It's old, so much so that the model number is basically the type. I check the list and it's on there (and looks just like one of the pictured ones, except one thing). Then I go to put it in, fill out all the address and contact info, next page to select model number and... oh wait, it's that model number but it's white, not red? Not covered.

If the color matters as much as the model number, then maybe include that in the list? Even called just to make sure and the guy sounded like 'are you stupid or somethin', right model but different color means not affected'. Excuse me for wanting to be sure since you didn't say anything about color mattering until the very last step, and even pointed out that affected units came in three colors despite only showing a picture of red ones.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Shoot me PM picture of the sticker, there should be a date stamp (black in color) on the cylinder and stamp on the bottom. Let me see what I can do for you...

had to use a bottle jack to get the lower mount in.

as expected, it sat a little lower in front. Failed to take measurements, so not sure of how much but I think it's going to be just fine. I can see over the hood better now...

I don't see how that top hat could ever break, it's a solid chunk of aluminum.

I'll do the LT Racing UCA another day. Everything cleared, at full droop I can pass my hand between the coils and the spindle.

Looks like the top hats are different than the Tacoma, they are u-shaped instead of solid like your. I guess that creates more stress on the u-shape rather than more even distribution of stress on a solid piece.
