Their price isn't that bad compared to the parent company they licensed it from. RecRac sold me their 2 bike folding setup for $175, still not sure I am going to keep them.
Quality is great but I'm not a fan of keeping them on the truck and removing each time is a pain too.
Someone shoot me an offer! :threadjacked:

I built a wheel chock out of PVC that I hooked up to a bed divider from Harbor Freight. That said, I think I'm going to invest in a hitch mount rack and call it a day.

OP: You should probably locate the "All things bikes and tacos" giant thread on the subject.

It's comprehensive to say the least.

The recon rack and the like it are especially important when it comes to shuttling. I cant even tell you how many people / bikes we'd have in the back of a truck in portland. I think the highest I remember was like 19 in a full size.

I haven't tried it yet but I plan on getting it eventually. Looks like a solid design. DH bikes are kind of a pain to fit though even with the long bed. Usually just end up using a blanket or something and tossing it over the tailgate.

Why are you guys taking your tires off? I can see taking the front wheel off... But the tire?

I have a coupe of Thule racks up in the attic that I am gonna figure out how to mount. I have BMW 328i, E90, roof racks just in case anyone wants to buy the whole system. Probably should list on a BMW site but ...I kind of want to mod those bike racks because they are sweet.

I agree. I especially like any type of bike rack that doesn't require having to remove the front wheel. Look at all that cargo space that is useable since the bikes don't actually rest inside of the bed.

    This setup is nice but
The most bike racks that I have seen do not exceed more than 3 bikes. I have a family of 5. Is there even such a thing as a 5 bike capacity rack that fits on tacoma?

Did a ride today and had both bike up, easy tie down and strap! Roll on and off in 2 min.
