    Good morning,

Woke up this morning to get the truck together for a friend that was borrowing it. Did a quick inspection and noticed a lot of grease on the passenger front lower control arm and chassis. Picture below. My thought is maybe from the CV joint? Checked the boot and it's supple and couldn't find a crack. Truck sat for two weeks and it got chilly but nothing crazy.

    Thoughts on the source?

    Yes
Yup, it appears that either your CV boot has a tear in it or the boot " burped "

Thanks. How urgent of a fix typically? Do it now don't drive the truck? Or is it ok to go run into town and back (40 miles).

thats all for you to decide, if dirt and stuff gets in and mixes with the ball bearings it will require you to replace them. Its cheaper to go aftermarket but nothing will beat the quality to oem

You can find some high angle cv boots for about $55ish.
