Hey now, I did a whopping 54 sit ups! And no, I've been cleaning the house like a mad man. I've been living the bachelor life but want to clean up before Kara comes home.

Nope...I'd move in a heartbeat. We don't get a lot of snow but we do get a break from the heat for a few months!

Not a bad way to spend opening day! I thought about going this morning but I haven't been able to sleep in for about 6 weeks so I decided to stay in bed!

The above quote to replace the carpet in my house with engineered hardwood, bathrooms with tile/marble, was just for labor/materials. But not including the actual engineered hardwood or tile.

And I wanted to get my basement room finished with recessed lighting, but did not get a quote there yet.

Sounds expensive! Try Craigslist and a diy’er to come do it on the cheap. Engineers are over rated :boink:

*Edit just kidding! Do not let anyone from craigslist anywhere near your home

unless they are giving me money!

I emailed him back, saying I am going to pass right now. I do want him give me a quote on electrical, drywall, and floor for my basement room. And I want him to add an outlet to my garage so I can get a welder.

I may do that stuff at a later time. I just was not prepared for a $12k bill right now. And I still might do some upgrades. Maybe not the floor quite yet. I want some granite. And I definitely need some paint in my house

How about doing some work yourself and with friends? You may know someone who can do drywall, and taking off carpets is konda easy. Do the rough and let pros do the finition, you'll save a lot of money!
