I voided my warranty in the first six months of having my truck. Not a lot of fucks given but I also don't have any leaks. Actually that's a lie, my rack and pinion is leaking but I will go ahead and fix that myself in a couple weeks.

I was just offering up a solution to the problem.

Good luck with your diff :D

Not everyone wants to toss their warranty in the trash on a 35K truck. If the dealer proves unable or unwilling to fix it then, yes do what you gotta do, but some people want to exhaust their options first.

no the floormats that killed were a aftermarket type that weren't secured properly with the OEM mat clips and slid up under the accelerator, but Lawyers blamed Toyota for it

Everyone is entitled to their opinion Bill even though he says "100% true" lol. And to beat it all a lawyer said it! Q: When was the last time a lawyer told the truth? A: Never haha

    It's all good though.

There are plenty of lawyers that are truthful. Dig deeper into the Toyota floor mat debacle and you will see it was never about the floor mats. It was always defective software yet Toyota came up with the floor mat defense as if millions of drivers over the years were too stupid to know where to place their floor mats, so now we all have floor mat hinges. I’m not sure why Toyota would settle for over $30 million if their floor mat defense was so solid.

I still contend it was operator error. People drive thru convenience stores everyday because they thought they were pressing the brake but were on the gas.

I remember when that all happened some car magazine or such did a test with a bunch of cars (Prius included) and every single one the brakes were able to stop the car with the gas pedal floored. Even a Shelby GT500.

I think Toyota and other large Corporations settle because of bad publicity and fake news that the Progressive media puts out because all business is evil in their minds, and it hurts their sales if they don't pay off the bribe, this is nothing new, the Lawyers are there to pick up a large percent of the payoff not because of mans inhumanity towards man but for personal profits for themselves.

I understand many people feel this way but I am sure there was a lot of behind the scenes dynamics here that many do not know. You don’t pay that kind of money if you are innocent. In fact, Toyota lost this case at trial and then wanted to settle because they were likely about to get hammered. At times corporate America messes up and money can play a role in their profit driven decisions to make something right. I’m a Toyota fan but they messed up here and they know it. They put forth the most practical defense they could and it didn’t work. Then they settled before the damages verdict was handed down. I will say they did try the case and it is my understanding they played hardball the entire time so they stood behind their story. Either way, that is all over so let’s get those howling rear diffs fixed! :)

'09 Silver SR5 Prerunner DCSB (sold) Dick Cepek rims, 33” Cooper AT 3’s, 24 in light bar, custom-made hitch step, sport headlights (on SR5 taco), Gator tonneau cover (looking for Best Top soft camper shell), real tree seat covers, weather tech floor liners, 6’ bed mat cut to 5’ (because the 6’ ones were the only ones available, alpine touch screen head unit, alpine 1100w amp powering 2 10” subs, upgraded door speakers (forgotten the brand), Magnaflow exhaust
A company as big a Toyota won’t care about something form one person, unless they see this issue form a multitude of people. So quit your biching and go buy a Nissan. Or some other much lesser vehicle.
