So you wouldn’t loop an external cooler into the system with the radiator? Thats what i was going to do with my truck

 

Not on our runners the built in cooler is what fails and mixes with coolant

 

Oh. Well thats what i plan to do with my truck because the engine coolant helps warm the transmission fluid up to operating temp faster in cold weather

Replaced the pinion seal, and change the diff oil. Never did it before, it was easy!(with the right tools)

 

You’d better pray you got that nut back on in the exact same spot. Thats what made my orginal diff blow up.

Why did you think you needed to replace the pinion seal? Are you running synthetic gear oil?

 

I did put it on the same position. My diff was leaking, now Im using synthetic oil.

 

I went to the dealer this morning and ordered a 2018 Honda 1000cc SxS. Had to order it because I wanted red but they didn't have a red one in stock. I pick it up next Saturday. It has seating for 5, a hydraulic dump bed and front & rear diff lockers. it has a full auto mode trans or paddle shifters on the steering wheel if you decide to shift it electronically. I usually don't buy stuff new but it wasn't much more to buy a new one compared to a used one.

You shouldn't reuse the pinion nut either which makes it impossible to get into the exact same place without resetting the gears properly.

 

I like to use water in my diffs, that way if I ever get stranded I have an emergency water supply.

 

This. I've had synthetic in my diffs for 40k now, is there some magic reason my third hasn't exploded yet?
