I finally found them where you said to look. They're not cheap but look like a well made product I'll just have to decide between them or doing the ozniums again

I would love a remote start. These MN winters can be a dog, and this one is hopefully going to be cold.

Got this mod from the Forum. Not the best cutting job on the mounting plate, but actually not bad for my skill set.

I fish all year, but I think I like being on the ice even more than in my boat. The last couple years have been crap for ice fishing, so I welcome the cold.

This one was made by a local fabricator with some changes that I didn't like from the "original". The tire is offset to the passenger's side to allow mounting of my rotopax or whatever other crap I want to put on there. Just seemed like wasted space to have the tire in the middle there. I also have a basket that bolts where the rotopax mount is for random storage so I can change things up for whatever trip I'm on.

But to your question, I like it but just like any modification, it has it's pros and cons.
Pros- It keeps the trie nice and tight to the truck to lower your overall length- handy for urban and trail use. Able to keep a full sized spare with you and out of the bed. The entire assembly bolts on and off with only 6 bolts- really about 20-30 min from tailgate to carrier, start to finish. The extra weight just past the axle helps make the rear end squishy (Dakars).
Cons- it limits how much you can use the truck as a "truck". Being a short bed there are some considerations as is when you need to haul something, this makes it a bit more of a pain. No tailgate means no "tailgating". But now I'm just nitpicking.
I don't keep it on all the time, but when I have a trip, i can put it on and take it off when I come back.

Overall I'd recommend it if a bumper with carrier are out of reach for you.

You made it yourself that earns enough respect to overlook any imperfections in my book. It takes alot more thinking and is alot mre fun than swiping a card.
